That sucks ! I will say they were not strict at all on customers wearing masks even after the state made it mandatory. Both my visits I saw nobody wearing a mask coming in , obviously when eating they can’t . My first visit I didn’t admittedly but second visit I kept it on.

Hopefully you didn’t come in contact with it man!

Hope not but now they are closed for 2 weeks and that sucks too lol.

For the Charlotte folks:

I'm under consideration for a job in NC and was giving the Huntersville / Davidson / Mooresville area a strong look to live in. It seems like a very nice area at face value (upscale, close to the lake, straight shot into the city, etc.).

However, as I did some Googling, I came across something that was troubling. Apparently, this part of the Charlotte metro area is a pretty large cluster for a couple extremely rare forms of cancer.

From what I gather, a couple things were/are going on. I learned that Duke Energy has a massive coal power plant just to the NW of this area (so they're immediately down wind) and there may have been this scheme years ago (when these areas really started to boom) where Duke was selling its access coal ash to homebuilders, who mixed the ash with the soil under the properties in this area.

It's now being speculated (though not proven) these cancer cases can be traced back in part to Duke Energy's activities.

What exactly is the skinny on this issue? Is it something I should be worried about if I were to move there?

FWIW, I looked into Concord as well, but I'm not as impressed by what it offers in terms of amenities. That said, this whole cancer mystery may cause me to have second thoughts.

Let me dust the cow webs off this thread with a somewhat funny story.

So, we have had outdoor cats around for years. I've talked about it, so most of y'all know. They are semi-feral and it depends on the cat for how feral or tame they are.

Most of the cats that come in the house are at least relatively calm, but there have been two times where they haven't been, one time happening earlier in the evening. This evening, the cat came in with us, but one of the kittens also did. I wasn't sure initially but as it turned out, the kitten came in. When my dad tried to get the kitten to go back outside too, they FREAKED. They scrambled around, knocking down a trash can, jumping on the countertop, then scrambling on the window and blinds. It was WILD.

My dad literally had to grab a box, trap that kitten in there, and drag said box to the front door to get the kitten out of the house.

Definitely not a way to continue to gain rep with an initially feral kitten, but that was so wild. I was laughing.
