So we have reached peak deaths but not peak infection? Makes senseBy those numbers it looks like peak deaths are far behind us.

Doesn't include data from this week. That's what I'm referencing.
If the virus has mutated, lost its intial punch. Became less severe but more spreadable. That would make perfect sense. On top of Doctors have some ammo, learned knowledge to combat this in patients who are severe, earlier on. Not learning on the fly.So we have reached peak deaths but not peak infection? Makes sense
Lesson here is don’t get tested! Especially if you’re not feeling sick. They are grounded for 2 weeks like any child would be ?

The CDC data can be deceptive because each week deaths are inputted that happened weeks ago. So, while it looks like only 1,000 deaths have reported for the last week, that could end up being 5,000 or 10,000 once it’s all said and done. I suspect the worst is probably behind on a national level (I don’t expect 2,500 deaths/day really), but it’ll probably get somewhat worse before it gets better.By those numbers it looks like peak deaths are far behind us.
not a fan of the ankle bracelets, but I'm okay with them getting some kind of fine for not adhering to the Health Dept's protocol.Lesson here is don’t get tested! Especially if you’re not feeling sick.
Some very good vaccine news today.
President Trump is going to resume Coronavirus press briefings starting tomorrow.
It does seem like the new cases may be starting to tail off there compared to the 3,000+ daily cases we were seeing recently there. Hopefully, that’s true and not an artifact of the testing, though.Arizona reports 1,559 new cases and 23 new deaths.
I find it simply unbelievable that my grandpa has basically completely recovered from covid (other than oxygen at times after a walk) he had 10 mini strokes when he was at the hospital and 4 major ones in his life including the Covid one, and a few heat strokes, and is still able to do things like walk, speak clearly, use the bathroom on his own, I find that to be mind boggling
That’s what I highlighted in my initial response but your response sounded like you wanted people to wear it at the Western Sizzlin’ table ?![]()
In North Carolina, hospitalizations drop for the fourth consecutive day (though are still higher than Monday last week, so...) and reported positive tests are the lowest thus far for the month of July. There’s also recently been some decline in the test positivity rate over the last week or so. Maybe the mask mandate is starting to make its presence felt? Good news? Maybe a bit premature, but something to monitor.
Maybe premature. In Pitt county they had to cut testing sites significantly because of backlog and heat issues. Some sites were closed all together.
Politics. It’s not about “safety”at this point.
“SaFeTy”--------. It is about safety. No one gives a damn about Trump and his sycophants thinking this is all a ploy to get him voted out. As someone who has NO IMMUNE SYSTEM due to Lymphoma, I’m glad they’re taking their time.

Wow man that’s incredible, he’s a fighter ! He’s blessed ! Glad he’s doing better and still doing things, its Stuff like that, that really just shocks you but at the end of the day makes you realize god can do incredible thingsKudos to your grandpa, nothing but will to live! My 93 year old grandpa had Diabetic ketoacidosis in a rehab facility because they weren’t giving him his diabetic medication. It lead to bacterial pneumonia in both lobes, and he had a heart attack. All in the same day when I visited him and noticed his respiratory rate was elevated and his heart rate at rest was 135 and I called EMS. The nurses didn’t care. They said if the family wants an ambulance to come they can call. Wtf? I’m so glad I went that day as I went months without seeing him sometimes (regrettably). I’m not super religious but god was watching over him that day, no doubt in my mind. I was told to go see him....He’s still fighting today, in hospice but can still do a lot on his own at 95!
You have good genes! It must make you proud to see him. I know I am proud of my WII vet still fighting!
