Yeah, that's a big concern no doubt. Important infrastructure helping to keep people alive & afloat during these times would also be at risk for a significant amount of time at least on a local level

I stated earlier I wear a mask around others not because big brother tells me too but because I'm responsible. My disdain for a mandate is your last sentence, talking about a temporary protocol.....I hope your right. Forgive me for not trusting government

Stand in line. People abstain from wearing masks just like others abstain from social distancing guidelines when they go out to protest. Both are exercising rights, both contribute to rises in case confirmation, and both are really insane.

Think about this one. I posted article today where two medical journals had to retract studies criticizing hydroxychloroquine because the marketing firm that wrote it used faulty data from a third party funder with political motives, and they won't provide the name of this party that put lives at risk. All cause they don't like Trump. Has any media outlet retracted their reporting of these studies? I don't think so. Why? Cause their perfectly happy risking peoples lives if means their political opponents look bad. So no. I have no interest in being angry or losing faith over guy that doesn't wear mask, because guy on television has been providing false information about Covid-19 months.
 
I think of requirements to wear masks similarly to how I think about requirements to wear clothes. For those who are against the mask ordinances, do you think folks should be allowed to walk around naked in public?

What does trump and hydroxychloroquine have to do with wearing a mask? I'm just pointing out these -------- arguments that people make that if masks work why can't I do x,y,z.

Just to play devil’s advocate, some people would see “loving thy neighbor” as not handing this country over to the commies and helping others by standing up to big brother and fighting for our individual freedoms.
 
For the record I am not opposed to wearing a mask. I wear a mask when required and I don’t -----, moan, or complain about it. With that said, I also know that masks are not the answer to this pandemic nor are they going to help us flatten the curve in any way shape or form. California has had a statewide mask mandate for over a month yet Los Angeles just set a new daily Covid positive record. Derp

Trump and Gov Kemp are two big dummy (as Fred Sanford would put it) examples. Wtf is wrong with Gov Kemp trying to overrule our mayor’s mask ordinance?? I’m glad the mayor is fighting him back. I sure as heck won’t vote for either to be re-elected.

Mandates don't work as well as they could because too many people don't follow them, especially in densely populated cities. Also issues like wearing masks, but not washing them or your hands, feeling you're safe now so you social distance less, etc.

I was thinking this very thing this morning. Beyond a shadow of a doubt there are far more people wearing mask in the last month then the first 2 months of this pandemic, yet numbers seem to be spiking, record numbers we're told.... so if mask are the answer why aren't numbers coming down?

It's not the mask, it's how it's being implemented.... there is a difference. I'll say this again for all those sick of hearing it, I apologize, but I wear a mask when I'm in close proximity to others, not because of a gov't mandate but because I feel it's my responsibility. Individual responsibility, yes.... government mandates, no
 
I actually agree with both sides of the Mask debate. Both sides have good points.. I wear my mask, that's all I'm accountable for. But I also know when the government give us a decree on anything usually nine times out of ten it over steps and is inaccurate on the the "fix" of a situation.

That was a joke. They count COVID if you die of other causes in a hospital so that the hospital can get the federal money for treating a COVID patient.

Seems like we have always seen a lag, cases didn't flatline and drop day 1 after the lock down, new cases didn't start ramping up day 1 after reopenings/protests. I say lets see where we are in 2-4 weeks if we are in the same spot or still increasing either A. masks don't work, B. still not enough people take masks seriously. C. we are screwed
 
It’s interesting to me that so many that do not think there is anything to this virus or that it’s somehow a hoax find themselves in this thread. If you don’t believe in it, what’s there to talk about? Please just don’t come and fight, some of us use this thread to help gather information and to process through regional decisions for our businessses and families.

I agree but just from my observation, there were vastly larger numbers of individuals wearing mask prior to the mandate then there were in the first month or so, yet numbers continue to increase. I'm sure mask help, I just don't think it's be all end all.

The requirement is not to assault people with your nudity. Wearing clothes is a good way to do it, but you can be creative and block people’s view of your nudity in other ways. I don’t know of any clothes mandates. The laws regulate ludeness or nudity. You could hold a barrel over your naked body if you wish. Erect a fence and walk around nude on your own property, etc. so long as their are no unwilling viewers or children that can see you. The local ordinances may vary on this but it’s not a clothes mandate.
