Misc 2020 Banter Thread

Hi everyone please see below:
All,

Over the past 6 months we have seen a large increase in activity in the non weather related threads. We recognize as the board grows we will slowly transition from just a weather board to a community. With this transition we will be gaining new members with new interests and differing view points. With current global events these differing views and interests become magnified across the community as members express their thoughts, stances, and ideas. This has led us as staff to recognize the need for written guidelines for the board as a whole and independent within threads to ensure the overall climate of the board remains constructive and welcoming. With that being said we want to outline the following general rules:

#1 racist, sexist posts will be immediately deleted and you will be banned from the community
#2 using derogatory terms in posts will be immediately deleted, you will be banned from said thread for 72 hours for the first offense, 120 for the second, permanently for the 3rd.
#3 when you post statistics or something as a fact please cite your source, baseless facts will be subject to deletion.
#4 using the term snowflake, karen, maga to describe someone or a grouping of posters will be subject to deletion. Continual use will subject you to the thread suspensions in point 2.
#5 Drive by 1 liners with the purpose of getting a reaction will subject you to suspensions in point #2
#6 consistently posting the same subject matter over and over or outlandish posts will be deleted. If this continues after deletion you will be subject to suspensions in point #2 will follow.
#7 posts that aren't directly related to the thread will be removed. Obviously there is a lot of crossover at this time between Corona, politics, sports. Please make sure that your placing your post in the correct thread.

Please let me know if you have questions or concerns around any of the outlined points. Our goal isn't to silence you as members it's to make sure that we keep the community as a place folks want to visit as well as keeping the weather side of the board free from carry over issues.
 
I just have to say I love days like today. Tropical moisture off the atlantic, deep blue skies with puffy cumulonimbus clouds, and quick brief downpours. Sun, rain, sun, rain. Makes it challenging to ride my Jeep with the doors and tops off, but the most exciting weather to enjoy.

Apparently, DBQ , Iowa has never had a winter without a below zero low temp! Things that make you go hmmmm. And average 13 nights below 0 a winter!

This is pretty cool to watch. No one dies just great communication and great work by the blue in this video. The K9 kicks ass.
 
On a flight to Austin. Plane is packed. No empty seats and no plexiglas in between people. Kinda surprised.
 
Maybe we can go to Gorges State Park late July or early August, idk. Think I'm in between that and swinging by the Clemson Experimental Forest on the way home (instead of staying in Clemson), or heading toward Blairsville for a full day of activities.
 
Are there any other sleep talkers on the forum? Both me and my wife got off work this morning and were sleeping this morning when I woke her up with my talking. She use to have a sleep talker app on her phone that would capture some of the stuff I said. Boy were there some doozies.

Anyone else deal with that?
 
I'll be in Atlanta next Wednesday through Saturday. Going to Six Flags and to the zoo there.

I hope you can go, ATL mayor wants to roll back to phase 1, which means things are closed again!

In other news I got a new phone and OMG I can't wait for a storm so I can take pictures!!!! Samsung Galaxy S20+5G, got a great deal from T-Mobile and left Verizon, two phones for the price of one and WAY less on the bill!

How much time did you have left on your vzw contract?
 
Scotty, we don’t care about a little flooding in your backyard! Get a grip man. Roads flood sometimes and the one you showed prob floods all the time.

I will be super pissed if they do that right before we go. We have to wear masks, they have hand sanitizer stations at every ride, have to wipe down the rides after each go, have limited capacity, and we had to reserve a specific day and time to enter the park. We were supposed to go in March.

Question is is the service as good as Verizon
 
I saw the chatter about gloves in the virus thread. I could not comment but it appears some companies are planning to start production here in America. We are 3rd leading supplier for Gloveworks in America. I never thought I would see 8mil Nitrile gloves at $20-$30 a box. We have been getting gloves in but are limiting amounts sold per order. Larges are the hardest to get it seems. Gloves is a booming business right now. We finally got in KN95 masks. Plenty of them. Though going quickly. The overall PPE business is unreal at this time. Never thought I would be in this type of business support.
