Downeast, I think you're missing the point. The point is that we can't change everything that bothers someone. People can choose to be bothered by literally anything. This particular issue of "Master", while obscure and "silly," is part of the greater picture which is ridiculous. We have a cosmetic company not using the term "whitening" anymore, voice actresses quitting (and apologizing) for daring to voice biracial cartoon characters, doing away with the word "plantation," and people afraid to refer to the main bedroom of a house as "master." This is people just searching for things to be offended by. It is really ridiculous and this "always being offended/always the victim culture" is completely out of hand. People need to start taking control of their own feelings. Are we going to do away with the words whip, hang, civil, crow, the name Jim? What about indian, westward expansion, Texas, Tex-Mex? Are we going to outlaw the colors red, white, and blue? We are going to be left with a handful of words and expressions it's ok to use. Isn't that thought control, speech control, and censorship? Isn't that the loss of free thinking, free speech, and freedom in general? Isn't this teaching people that others are responsible for our feelings, that we have no power for ourselves, and that we must depend on other to make us happy? This is just completely backwards in every way.
