I keep thinking do Democrat’s and the media really understand how and why Trump won in 2016, then I see posts like this and it makes it abundantly clear the answer is no. Ironically, propaganda like this is making it that much easier for him to win in a landslide again.

Neither candidate is winning in a landslide, country is far too divided for that to happen. Many Dems are overconfident right now because some polls in June have Biden up double digits. I guarantee you whoever wins will do so by a small margin with both candidates probably not crossing 300 EV

Out of touch lol. Watch some pre election coverage of 2016 of why it was impossible for Trump to win. Ray Charles could have seen what was going on across middle America. Maybe if you and the left keep saying everyone else is out of touch it might help you believe it? I for one don’t really mind to see the media coverage of Trump being so negative and posts like you made a minute ago. It’s fuel on the fire and snowflakes like you are trying to fight it with a water pistol. I know you’re smarter than this because I’ve seen what you do on the weather side.

I don’t disagree that the election will probably be close, the thought of a landslide for Biden or trump in 2020 is preposterous

My point. If you thought the Trump base was fired up in 2016, multiple that by a million and increase the silent vote by at least a million. If you’re getting a boner based on June nationwide polling then you are as lost as you were in 2016.

Same can be said of the Democrats in 2018. They came out on droves and they have been adding voters ever since. Then add conservatives like me who are considering an actual vote to Biden that went 3rd party last time.

I voted against the dems in 2016 because I honestly just really hated Hillary Clinton, even more than Trump to be quite honest

If Hillary would have gotten Obama numbers, she would have beat Trump. (Trump would have lost against 2008&2012 Obama with his 2016 numbers). It’s gonna come down to if Biden can get the turnout closer to Obama vs what Hillary did. I don’t think he motivates anyone to vote for him, but the Lefts disdain for Trump counteracts they plenty.

Meh its not how many people vote but where that really matters since we have the EC, and in places that matter Trump is behind period....Biden has pulled back a lot of the rust belt Dems Trump won from Clinton without them he loses WI/PA/MI and the election....
 
Interesting what is going on in Pennsylvania. In 2016, a state Trump won, Dems voter registration was +11, today its +9. Worth watching.

This is what needs to be watched versus polls. Considering the polls can’t even get the weight of a poll correct, the overall output is trash from the beginning.

Not sure anybody needs to be too confident at this point. The next 120 days are going to be very challenging for this country and the election may not be the biggest issue on everyone's mind.

Yeah, it's an eternity from now till Election Day. Lots of chaos is going to occur between now and then. I'm not confident in either direction, nor am I confident both actually make it to the election.

I left that out of my post and I agree. I believe we have come to a reckoning and how we handle it determines who and what we are as a country on the other side of this.

I’m confident trump is on the way out. The writing is on the wall. This isn’t 2016, Trump isn’t an unknown quantity this time around. Anecdotal, but I know several Trump voters going biden this time because trump has turned them off bigly with his antics.
 
Those on here who call people "boomer" don't even understand that is a compliment to us. We, and many generations before us, have worked a long time to make this country a successful one (with all its faults) and sometimes at the cost of our lives. Many of us "boomers" started out just as liberal or even more so as you are, but through experience, maturation and understanding most have evolved into different people for it. We have made our share of mistakes, and have suffered for them, but do not think you will not go through this same process, but if you don't then that is on you.

What the far left in this country wants is not debate, they wish to squelch and eliminate any opinion other than their own (take the censoring on college campuses today for conservative speakers as an example). They do this by calling you names, trying to shame you or just telling you they are sooooo much smarter than you. Well guess what, you are not, not even close, because your ideas have not been fired through real life learning and experience quite yet. We don't hate you for it because we understand that to become a butterfly, first you have to grow out of your cocoon, and hopefully you will, but I am not the judge as to tell you how you as an individual you need to grow.

Those who are on the far right have my disdain just as much as you do on the left (for differing reasons in some cases), however, we are all shaped by the environment we are raised in and only those who grow as humans and practice some tolerance for those different from us should feel comfortable with who they are as they mature. Trying to label someone else as "Christian", "racist", "evil", "ignorant", is a difficult proposition of which NO ONE here is capable of performing with any degree of accuracy. Judging someone else's words by using your definition of those words is the height of arrogance IMO. Try to be more circumspect before posting and calling other posters names which could or could not be accurate simply because of the individual prism our own views causes us to judge by. Pejorative name calling is a sign of a weak minded person seeking validation for their own thoughts and unwilling to be judged by their own. No hard feeling from me but I will kow tow to nobody, and will respond whenever I feel it is appropriate to do so, whether I disagree or agree with comments
