5/18/20 - 5/23/20 Upper Low Flooding & Severe Threat

That's a really bizarre looking map cape wise. I can't imagine that we'd have zero cape with highs around 80. Guess we'll see...

North of that boundary there’s cloud cover all day, south of it is quite the environment based off the NAM, soundings supportive of supercells with very large hail, we’ve seen this setup before this year... 641FD84E-0F9F-4EC5-9F92-37C7854E913D.png

Oh yeah, basically been the story of this year. It won't take much for that boundary to shift some as we get closer to the event.

I’m willing that chase this once if it’s south, I like this setup for supercells given the possible MCV/passing energy allowing favorable wind parameters, especially around 3km, and lol at the end of the NAM3km BDB4B2EC-8BA7-44CE-85A9-B1EC2C0F4E47.png

Some development over Georgia/Florida now may come north into Charlotte region tomorrow. A62420A6-9238-4171-9EA2-5BB238DAD823.jpeg

Jesus couldn’t imagine being in western Louisiana right now with 7” of rain and no signs of those storms moving.

Nah, I'm sure Jesus could imagine it quite well, with the whole walking on water thing and all....

Flash Flood watch will be gone tomorrow morning it expires. Any chances they cancel early if it’s mostly drizzle tonight? GSP, hello? @iso

Something to keep in mind flood watch may expire in the morning. But the Thunderstorms Friday evening will be heavy possibly severe. So flood threat will probably be back for those underneath thunderstorms Friday.

That’s pretty much the direction our rain has been coming from for the last 3 days. Little clusters like that seem to just blow up just north of the Savannah River and then trains over us for 5 or 6 hours. I’m up to 5.7 inches since 6pm Monday and GSP is saying we’re in for another 2-3 by 5:00pm tomorrow

We are dialed in now, band goes out past the ILM and MHX radars. Just hit 1 inch for the day wouldn't be surprised to put another inch on top of that overnight and maybe another tomorrow

Given the area below Columbia SC aiming for Boone NC it’s safe to say flood watches may be extended tomorrow.

Another 2.86" bringing my total to 7"+ over the past 3 days. It's still pouring this morning, so I expect at least another inch or two today. We were stuck in the upper 40s most Wednesday, as well. Went for a wet run yesterday wearing a toboggan, gloves, and a light jacket...in freakin May!! That's a first and hopefully a last.
