I have a bad feeling we'll screw this up somehow. I just want a few flakes, is that too much to ask?

There are some elements of the setup later this week that kind of remind me of this totally badass event in Feb 1948 which was an overrunning event that popped a late coastal and delivered a huge hit to the northern coastal plain of NC. If we played our cards perfectly, just maybe...

I wonder if I would be satisfied with a measly 5-8" while some people in the coastal plain are measuring their snow with yard sticks? LOL. :p

I hope the models are better now than they were for the Carolina Crusher in 2000. I just remember everyone saying the precip will stay to our south, and I remember looking at the radar before leaving work for the day thinking they better hope all that precip stays south or we are going to get pasted. By 11:00 that night the local mets were sounding the alarm that the precip was indeed coming NW. Always have that in the back of my mind when we see the precip to the south of NC.

I’m ok with being on the fringe right now. Even though I live in “Late arriving cold air USA”.. Now come to Jimmy

Well I guess that 2.5 inches I got a couple weeks ago will have to be the highlight of my winter. Just not looking forward to summer heat I honestly hate summertime

cmc shifts back eastward with the precip, not as far west as 00z.

Yep flow was back to flatter, still a decent hit but wrong direction

I bet we will see a lot of these waffles back and forth the next couple of days

And the CMC shows once again what a pile of monkey crap it really is.

I'm definitely very worried about getting fringed up in my neck of the woods.

I think the nam maybe has the general ideal it was right for the ga/sc snow last weekend I’m sticking with the nam

lol, all the moisture in the world with the pending storm. yay for cold rain.

Gonna toot my own horn for a moment. Miserable fail on early snow prediction for CAE but in all fairness the pattern was ripe for those guys. MSLP maps match with what you want to see to get snow down that way. The cold air is just a touch too late. With that said, I also predicted a sharp cutoff to the north of the overrunning and that has legs. Someone is going to get whiffed with precip while the atmosphere above their head supports snow. And it’s going to hurt. End of horn toot
