The reason for the long time span is that this event could start in Texas on Wednesday and end in NC Friday. Does not include the potential coastal event.

The Thursday potential should start showing on the 6z 144hr ensemble run this morning.
FWIW the 06z GEFS looks much snowier and colder than the operational hmmmm??

This essentially is the hour we need to be looking at. If we have 2 waves out west like below game over. We need 1 solidified wave over SLC or the wave in Montana to be stronger than the one to its SW

Anybody have the 6z eps yet? Did the trend of separating the sw energy continue?
The only EPS picture I have is this. ONLY GOES OUT TO HR 144 RIGHT BEFORE SYSTEM MOVES IN

6z Euro, unless I'm misreading it, also looked better with the energy:

True, it could, but not sure. TBH I was just going by @Jon's post on twitter about the energy in WA helping hold it back over the past few runs. More concerned with the Euro anyway, given that it is ye olden NAM at range.

Looking back though, I may be looking at the wrong piece of energy. It may be what comes after the NAM range or the 6/18z Euro range that is the issue.

And here comes the GFS back in play again. NC and northern half of SC doing well.
The back and forth continues. GFS showed it, then lost it. Euro showed it, then stepped back. And now the GFS is looking good again.
