The way i put it is if we had all the info and internet access for a storm then that we do now which 5 would have generated the most forum interest? Im going to exclude Camille because that would be everyones pick.

1-Donna 1960. It had a track that hit Florida and the whole east coast

2-Labor day 1935 What would that sat pic look like?

3-Ginger 1971 arguing over whether it was coming all the way back or not

4-Betsy 1965 WTH?? Its going to loop off NC and go SW and end up in New orleans? NO WAY , lol

5-Great atlantic hurricane of 1944. It must have been awful large and strong to cause so much damage on its weaker west side as it went offshore of NC and the mid-atlantic

1780 Barbados Hurricane in Oct.

On October 10, the hurricane destroyed the island of Barbados with winds possibly exceeding 320 km/h (200 mph) which would make it an extreme category 5 strength hurricane, leaving the island completely decimated with nearly all its buildings and plantations destroyed.

Hazel as mentioned but any of the big hurricanes that hit the Georgia coast up to Charleston in the 1700s and 1800s. Some of the reports of water rises are wild well inland.
