Misc This Means WAR

before the war, i thought vance easily had the 2028 win. now, i think newsome has a real chance. democrats are going to run on the "groceries are too expensive, and we need to leave oil behind for cheaper energy for both climate change and your wallets."

even opponents to green are going to go to the pump, remember the policies the democrats are putting forth, and finally decide enough is enough with the oil thing.

the optics of all of this stalemate war will be devastating for the republicans.

Anyone who believes that going green means cheap energy is a dimwit. Not saying going green isn't the better option, but thinking it will be free is just goofy.

We hold all the cards and will still fold

If Bessent isnt lying then why are we talking? First, if we agree to open the Strait and put off nuclear talks then we capitulated on everything

Second, if we accept Iranian promises to talk about getting nukes sometime in the future they will use the time to get nukes

Third. While the Dumbarses on FOX might have forgotten the rest of us havent. Hormuz was fully open with no tolls or fees before we bombed them. In other words Iran agreeing to open Hormuz isnt a concession by them. Trump the fool will let them have nukes in exchange for absolutely nothing. Well played, Iran

Indeed. Another reason to wonder why in the heck Trump will surrender

Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, led by Mohammad Baqer Zolqadr, reportedly warned that anti regime protests could resume within days as the economy deteriorates. Officials said economic pressure is the main trigger. The assessment claimed Iran may only withstand another 6 to 8 weeks of a U.S. naval blockade. By the end of spring, up to 2 million private sector jobs could be lost. Security officials reportedly concluded unrest is inevitable, with only the timing uncertain. - Iran International

So you really think open source Intel knows all the answers and all the info right?

Because it makes us appear civilized?

No effect on today’s prices, however, as they closed near $100, up >$3.
That makes sense. Everything I’m reading says this has little impact short term but long term (about a year) oil pricing likely goes down as UAE would have more control over what they supply. They’ve been frustrated by OPEC’s restrictions.

Sidenote. It’s insane how small UAE is geographically compared to how much oil they produce. Also, Kuwait. 👀

They dont exit till sometime in May but more will likely exit and oil production will go up. G ood chane a new alliance will form led by us, a benefit of being the top energy producer.

Maybe that's what will cause a chain reaction of countries leaving

That's only been true during Trump/Maga
just because some people blindly put their head in the sand doesn't mean that everybody else does the same. We are the United States we don't need to be in any kind of group unless it benefits us.

Im not sure its a stalemate. As long as we keep the blockade going they will collapse.

sure seems like a stalemate to me. nothing new, at all. considering these people will die for words in a book, im not so sure the threat of blowing them up or letting their oil backblow matters to them. at this point, it seems to me, that these irgc guys would rather die and claim martyrdom for their religion than live and sign an authentic deal with trump.

I dont agree, at least as long as Trump doesnt lose his nerve. The price of oil is grossly inflated. The world is turning more to the US to supply energy. Iran cant fund terror without oil money. I dont think we need to resume bombing. What i would do is take Kharg and install a provisional Govt there

oh. i was confused. i thought i was supposed to be annoyed that our oil is going to the highest bidder instead of americans. yeah, that makes sense. paying $4+ a gallon while other countries eat up the supply makes perfect sense now.

as a republican, moving more towards the center these days, i would like to get rid of reliance on oil and coal. i had a completely different viewpoint before this disaster.

It would be way faster just to pull out of OPEC, start the process of opening up more Drilling in this country and continue selling oil to other countries.

The US isn't a part of OPEC, and drilling more and more is not the answer either. Moving towards higher efficiency would be but that's another topic tying into auto makers and the cars they make as well as alternative materials for petroleum-based products.

You are correct, I was wrong we are not in opec. Either way OPEC needs to go.

Making refineries that can process our own oil is the answer but that takes years.
And the big oil companies are just fine with all the massive profits they've been making over the last several years... why would they want to invest the enormous capital it would take to build a new refinery now when they are fat, happy, and very very wealthy
