I live in NW Georgia. I have as much chance of depositing a golden egg on the toilet tonight as a democrat does winning here. Very few places will re-elect someone like MTG but this place will. It doesn’t matter how unhinged Trump is.

I am all for Iran not having nuclear weapons but from what I understand we have met our goals. Now if they don't give up the enriched uranium that may be a different story in a couple of weeks. You cannot trust Iran. But we have to thread the needle as a country so we don't end up over there for 20 years.
 
Really this should give time for the Iranians to stand up and take their country. They should be the ones that change the government, not us. Sure they don't have guns and it's going to be very hard but it was hard for us to beat England also.

If people are allowing themselves to be human shields around powerplants by request of the regime, you ain't liberating that country full stop.

Yes, I know they were probably compelled, but still...

Not that I have much faith in a successful popular uprising, but I also wouldn’t read too much into a few thousand people in a country of close to 100 million. The regime obviously has millions of true believers, regardless of whether those people were compelled to. But is it the majority, or even close to one? I don’t know.

I'm not sure on the meeting of goals, but I agree on everything else you said. This has (had?) all the foreshadowing of us being involved for many years like we had in similar conflicts in the past. Very, very few of us want to go through that scenario..

Still in the nowcasting stage with this, but will be curious to see if this ceasefire holds up and the exact conditions agreed to and if they will be followed. I hope this is "over", but it may not be yet. We'll see.

Not so fast. Trump is also giving Iran a huge win by making Hormuz an iranian toll booth. Too many forget Hormuz was open before trump dropped a bunch of meaningless bombs. Not only was it open, but no tolls were being charged. What in the Hell was the point of all of this?
