The June Thread 2021

If you ask dookie Dan then yeah . He gets his crazy predictions from his dad lazy Larry.
In all seriousness though this is what I was talking about last night and you can see that it’s a fairly quick hit, and I think that’s what we can expect as these releases happen

Definitely , doesn’t look to be the only one . Canada looks like it’s a train of high pressure systems . I do think we have not experienced the worst possible heat our climate can offer though. Our hottest month ever is in august , not July which is our hottest month on average . One of these years perhaps we will topple august 2007.

For the CLT area it’s hard to imagine August 2007 ever being topped… simply because of the longevity of intense heat. CLT’s all time record high is 104 and it’s been reached 8 times since official records were kept…. I think 4 times happened in that month alone. As for these heat releases that we see in the coming weeks from the west, it does look like each one will be short lived… it’ll just be interesting to see if things only top out around 100 in few spots in the eastern Carolinas or if triple digits might get a little more widespread

Luckily like all things that travel across the continent it moderates in intensity .. and in this case cools down to a nice 90s stretch … I mean at least it’s not 120 ??

Plus we have the bonus of moist SE US soils this summer. ATL may very well not reach the upper 90s at all this summer assuming we keep the drought away.

A heat wave across the country doesn’t mean a nice 90s stretch. 90s are the average . Maybe if it was New England .
