Misc Stock Market

It won’t be a quick process but the higher oil prices will eventually flood the market with US oil. Higher prices make many of our fields economically viable so it’s just a matter of time. Happened back in the last hike. Obviously the administration could be friendlier towards it but we have plenty that could be pumped regardless.

It did...it helped create the shale boom. Problem is, when prices went down, many of those companies (who got financing and never became profitable) had to shut things down. My guess is financing won't be quite as easy to come by this time around, especially for non-majors.

On watch MXC and

On watch

On watch EMKR and...
Big runners! One has not started trading yet.

Looks like the drive to renewables is accelerating per EPA.

Awesome, so there will be this clean spot of air on the map over the US (guess that makes us feel good about ourselves). Um does zero emissions also mean we have a way to keep all the radiation fallout out of our skies too?

Financing will be very hard to come by when Biden is filling his admin with people who want to deny credit for oil production. Saudi Arabia and the rest of OPEC are golden right now. If i were them i would be slowly restricting production. The very high prices will create some extra US production but energy companies are well aware any additional money they spend is at serious risk of being submarined at a later date by the Biden admin

"Sarah Bloom Raskin has specifically called for the Fed to pressure banks to choke off credit to traditional energy companies and to exclude those employers from any Fed emergency lending facilities," Toomey said."

Think SPY/Q's test the 8/20 ema's before next leg down. It's always tricky when they get this extended down or up from the short range ema's.

Oil continues to ? to the ?! It’s like an alt coin that goes up 5-10% daily! ?

Only question is if I go full degen and go in on margin or sell my losing crypto mining stocks to buy more. ? Probably shouldn’t at this point with $UCO approaching $200. ?

When that reverses it'll be fast. Don't know when it will be though.

Yep, agreed, that’s why I haven’t pulled the trigger, and probably won’t. Commodities are volatile enough and adding leverage to that makes it even worse, haha.

I’m up 2.2% in my accounts this morning at the moment. Not a bad start to the day.

Even back in November of 2021, US oil production was already at its highest since April of 2020 and is projected to increase further to new record highs in 2023 per the EIA. Related to COVID, production in 2020 dropped significantly vs 2019. It later steadied out and then started rising back later in 2021.

Now with these much higher prices, I expect EIA projections for 2022+ to be even higher. I wonder if the US reaches record high production in 2022. Can it happen that quickly?
