If they cancel for lightning 20 mi away or whatever the new rule is, they will cancel for a threat of a hurricane for sure
 
Moving to ATL is a good idea in theory. Problem is Sun night is the big primetime NFL game, and NBC does a lot of prep for it onsite. Takes about 3 or 4 days typically to setup cameras/equipment plus testing. If you move Bama/UGA to Sat night, they’d have to allow ABC to move in/out their production setup the day before, which would narrow NBC’s setup time to about 18 hours. I don’t think they would allow that.

My guess is IF they postpone the game, they move it to Mon night. Either keep it in Tuscaloosa (weather permitting of course), or ATL. That last one would still be a challenge production wise, but I think ABC could make it work in a pinch. That is only a guess, and just going by what's been done before.

I suspect if it's postponed that they just move it to Sunday and move the start time to the middle of the afternoon.

Apparently Saturday 11 AM is actually in discussion as well.
 
I'm thinking if it's moving fast and lopsided to the northeast like usual by then yeah it might be over by primetime???

All the really bad stuff is gonna be ahead of it like in the morning and afternoon

The south and west side will probably be just breezy

But is it going to be moving fast? That's the real question

Certainly doesn't seem like 11am or earlier in the day is better

But do they wanna risk all the pregame stuff and hoping it clears out. That's the issue with sticking to primetime

This is first time Ohtani is batting 5th for LA since 2020! But he hasn’t been the great Ohtani of old since August.
 
What’s with Acuna challenging with nobody on base in the 1st inning? I was wondering before the result of him losing it was revealed.
Now only one challenge left the rest of the 9 innings.
 
Sale gave up a 2 run homer to K. Hernandez and solo homer to Freeman to make it 3-0, LA. Also, Sale has already thrown 80 pitches over just 4 innings! Ouch!
 
The Braves were up 1-0 in the bottom of the 1st, but then they had 2 errors in the top of the 2nd to give up the tying run.
 
LA scored 2 on a single in the top of the 7th with the bases loaded to go up 3-1. Braves are on the verge of elimination. Stats say odds of coming back to win are <10%. :(

The biggest deficit a team has overcome specifically entering the bottom of the 9th inning in an MLB postseason game is a 3-run deficit (achieved by the Chicago Cubs in Game 4 of the 2016 NLDS).

Indeed! They gave up only 18 Braves hits in the series vs an avg of ~32 hits for all 4 game playoff series. (The Braves pitchers gave up 27 hits, which is slightly lower than avg….so not bad).

The Braves had 5 runners in scoring position today and none of them scored! Although LA gave up 18 walks in the series, none scored.

Freeman woke up from a slumber with 2 HR in the series after not having one since way back on Sep. 2nd! And Acuna did the opposite and went into a deep slumber in this series after an excellent Sept!

Oh well, congrats to you and other Dodgers fans. Are there any others here? We’ll try to get y’all in ‘27!

Hard in the moment win you lose a series to step back and evaluate but the Braves did as well as you could have asked for in the postseason. Beat the Phillies in a series which has been near impossible recently. Played the Dodgers and their twice as large payroll tough. In reality, the Braves are probably around the 4th or 5th best team in baseball and that’s about where they finished.

I know the topic is going to be lack of hitting and there’s some validity to that. But if you have time, I’d advise to do a little exercise and take all the pitchers who the Braves faced this postseason and write down their BAA (batting average against), that will put a lot of this into perspective. No one this postseason will have faced the top tier pitching like the Braves did.

Like our chances against them better than Padres tbh but Brewers pitching is good and they may be due. Can't afford to drop one at home that's for sure. Actually I say Brewers in 6

Nope. Brewers have better pitching than dodgers believe it or not … all their hitters make contact and they play excel defense . Brewers didn’t have best record in baseball for nothing .

Yeah but Brewers also had the best record in baseball last year and got swept by the Dodgers in the NLCS. I think they're better this year though.
