Misc September Segue

That's the friggin' segue ... ;)
Enjoy ... :D
Can I just segue right into sleet?? I've seen rain, seen drought, seen wind and storm, and great ne wind blowing that felt so good, and all within the last month..but I ain't seen no dang sleet...and I need some bad...like well before Jan! Lol, it would be anomalous, and I love anomalies. What could top a 60 inch rain event to the west better than a 6 inch sleet on Tony in Oct. I know I'm pulling for it :) T

Tony,
You, my friend, can segue into anything!
Keep your poetry coming as we head into a better season!
Best!
Phil

PS - Glad to see you back!

Hey, Phil! And thanks :) Oh, when summer's dregs are all that's left, I awake from my long malaise, lol, and start living again :) I had a really nice stiff ne wind blowing the other day, and it woke me right up. I'm so ready for fall and winter, even though this summer wasn't so awfully bad. Lots of cooler days, with clouds, lots of rain until the recent one month cessation of sky water. As far as summers go, this one was tolerable for the most part. I'm trying to coax Robert into posting here this winter...that would be sure to get me some sleet...so I'll try to guilt trip him, lol. Like to see Larry and Robert calling the weather again...makes for an all around better, and more educational winter, in my book. My weather guru's! T

Tony, welcome back from your slumber!! Now I know winter isn't too far away. The prospects are pretty good for a neutral negative (aka cold neutral) ENSO thanks to the El Nino fail. Cold neutral has overall been associated with the largest number of major sleet and ZR events in N GA by far going back to the late 1800s! Over half of them (~55-60%) had at least one, which is very high in comparison to other ENSO. So, maybe 2017-8 will be your winter.

Hey, Larry! How's things? Where do you reside now? Or where do the abbacusses..hmmm. abbacii?, where do you keep those these days? I think I get a better chance at the frozen, if you are in Sav, or Atl...somehow Gainesville didn't work out for me here, lol. Maybe having you and Phil that close together caused some kind of magnetic rift in the wintermatic, lol. Unless you were in Gainesville, Ga, in which case, I may not be fully conscious yet, lol...and am thoroughly confused :) Hope all is well with you, and we get the long awaited sleet in feet! Sounds like we might see some good cads. T

Did you ever read the Hab theory? A good cut off winter hurricane storm off Sav, dropping 60 inches of sleet would be big! That would put us right into an ice age in a week, if it stayed cold after. Any chance of seeing one of those in my life time? No one would have ever guessed at 50 plus inches of rain, so apparently most anything is possible, if not reasonable, lol. T

Tony - You keep me optimistic ...

Um, it's September and I have a cherry tree that has already lost all of its leaves, and now it's got a small group of flowers? o_O
Probably an autumn flowering cherry. They flower in spring and fall and sporadically in the summer and winter! It's been a weird summer

Lol, it's that time before winter sets in that all things are possible, and optimism is easy :) Then winter starts and we are reminded once again that we are in the South, lol. T
But down here we have you to give us true hope and whimsical rhyme to boot, and Larry to keep us real when we dream!

What a difference out now! Stayed in the 70s today, had about .23" of rain earlier this evening with the front and now it's a refreshing 61.5 and falling quickly! Hello 50s! I've had the windows open most the day and the house was at 65 a bit ago and the heat kicked on . I try to keep it around 68 this time of year... 72 after November lol.

Feels amazing out this morning! Bright sunshine and 57 degrees! Had some drizzle overnight but looks like the wet weather is now gone for a few days! Upper 70s today will feel great under full sunshine!

Maybe a little gift to the neighbors up north of here ...

Actually, too much brain power too close in proximity disrupted the kinetic energy field, causing Larry to sleep through our Gainesville flizzard ... LOL

Wednesday Night
Clear, with a low around 59.

Bring it on!

this would be the earliest 50s since I've been here 3 years if it holds, hopefully a sign of things to come

Made it down to 56.9 this morning and 77.9 this afternoon. Back down to 73.6 now. Gorgeous day!

Phil, if we didn't have dreams, it would never sleet and snow :) It's the combined dreams, and wishes, of southern children, and the ever young at heat, that gives us the psychic energy needed to make frozen, where none is possible, lol. Sure you can talk climo, and heights, cold layers, and timing, but we all know it's our dreams that give us those special days that come so rarely, lol.

Meanwhile, I was under a blanket, with the fan off, last night, and I've been dreaming about that since spring :) Good times!! The only thing better than winter, is fall!!!

Nice to see you back sleet man..... Now we can get this show on the road. Bring on Fall and Winter.
Thank you kindly :) Hope we all get pounded, and not by a hurricane, but perhaps a wintercane. If these tropical storms can cut of and linger, then why not a winter storm? Inches on feet, day after day, lol. T

2.99 of rain so far looking at another .5 to 1 this week

Could be looking at 3-4 months worth of rainfall next week!

I love making up for dry summers in 1 day

Lol! Shetley and I do too! The weather up until Monday or so, looks refreshing!

A beautiful Labor Day! Woke up to 54.8 this morning and topped off at 83.6. Looks like some of us in the SE (and especially higher elevations) will make a run for the 40s come Wednesday Night! Refreshing to say the least! Lets hope we can keep these fronts rolling all fall and winter long lol!
