I thought it would be good to have a pest thread. Bugs good or bad and pesky critters in general. ?️?️????

I had to get bats removed from my gables. Tried an ultrasonic device that seemed to work for a while but then didn't. Had to also remove a honeybee hive from my Sophie. Also have snakes in the crawl space. I could have an awesome Halloween party. Anybody want to come over?

What ever happened to Corey? I'm sure he would be at home in here. :D

dsaur, to reply to your post in the winter thread about deet, you kill spiders with it? That's very interesting too.

Sounds like Alice Cooper is coming

I got rid of the mole in my yard with an axe. FAFO
The visual on this is great! I hope you had your plaid on!??

10 Joro spiders at the front door at Dollar General. At least 3 above awning. I started to ask them if I could spray them. I don't think they care since they also have an infestation of those big reddish worm things. Bout 3 to 4 inches long. So many of them in the store and smashed it looked like somebody walked around spitting chewing tobacco out alllll over the floor. Nasty. Really? Weirdness.

If anybody wants to talk about a pest infestation you need to see my yard full of fire ant mounds. They showed in my yard in August of 2007 and get worse every year. Took over the whole yard. I get stung almost once a day at least or multiple times a day outside doing yard work. I gave up wasting money to try and kill them. They just move to another spot in the yard. I'm glad I at least grew up before they invaded Rutherford county because we were always playing in the grass. Not anymore.

I’ve got a method of lawnmower and the then seven dust that seems to be very effective.

Gasoline on the mound works great. Will kill the grass

I had about decided to get a real Christmas tree locally this year and woke up this morning with a horrible thought. What if Joro spider egg sacs are in the tree? o_O It could happen. One year when the kids were little, we cut a tree out of the back pasture and drug it up with the horse. Picture perfect. Baby praying mantises were all over my house. Another year a little green snake was in the tree. Guess I will stick with the fake one....

we moved in to the house just guessing about 20 moles all over the yard. Tried bait, gum, smoke sticks(nothing worked)... i found an old leaf blower with a rubber hose on the exhaust did the trick.. smash the den down and let a few hrs pass, go back to the re raised spots and make a small hole with a screwdriver.. stick the hose into the tunnel and run for 10 mins i mixed little heavier with oil to cause more smoke

Hey frens, meet my new baby pest. I named her Luna. Started to name her Snow or Snowy but I was afraid if I did that, she would never see snow. LOL. Was afraid it would be a jinx. The big pest Coco really needed a friend besides the witchy bitchy Chihuahua. So far no sleep but she is very smart and Coco is obsessed. ?? Wish us luck..need some sleep....and snow to play in.

Have the Joro spiders died down any since it has gotten colder. I hope so. You sound like you were infested with them like my yard is infested fire ant mounds.

Yes. About 2 weeks ago I could walk in woods pretty much free of spider fear. It's glorious. I already dread their return.

That's good. I know what you mean. I'm enjoying my little brake from the fire ants right now to but dread their return as well next year. Hopefully we can get some real cold air and snow with this pattern this winter shaping up and and put a hurting on their population. I sure hope so to slow them down.
