KATL is 4 below normal for 5/1-7. Will they hold on for the first colder than normal month since 1/2016? It will be tough with the warming coming midmonth but we'll see. Birmingham is 5 colder than normal. Anniston is -7. Much of TN is soldly colder than normal. GSP is -3.

Places like KGNV, KSAV, and KRDU are on the other hand near normal for 5/1-7 though I'd call it more pleasant than normal due to low RH. They obviously have a bigger challenge to get a colder than normal May.

The past truncation GFS goes way colder than normal - so there is a shot!

Bye bye cool pattern

Hot fun in the summertime.

And can't wait to get what looks like a rainy week over with. I don't want to be making up my kids' baseball and softball games in June.

As Webber was saying a good sign for plains severe coming

Like the analysis - especially from Webb - unlike the possibility, regardless of the source ...

Yeah, while Phil and myself as well as some in north and central AL and GA could use a good bit more rain, even we aren't in as bad shape as WeatherDawg87. An area just south of Rosie is really bad.

Gainesville, sure enough, was 4 cooler for this morning's low vs yesterday (52 vs 56) thanks to a 35 degree drop.

If the 6z GFS is right the drought will only expand and get worse, especially south of I-20. Some spots do not get 1 drop of rain on it right through hour 384.
Welcome back! :(

As strange as this month has been, this would top it all if that storm crossed Central America and got into our basin of the world in some remnant fashion, and then spun up ...

Wish it would cross over

I do believe that summer is officially here in the south. From now until at least September we will probably be in the 80s or 90s almost every day with the exception of a day here or there. Stay cool folks !
