Yeah, the weather has been weird. Seems like it went from winter to summer quite fast with a short spring. It's been clear too much and I don't like seeing weeks of sun and dry, so I agree to bring on the afternoon storms.

The Atlantic has had 3 consecutive years in which there was a named storm in before May 15th. The chances of that happening were 0.3%, based on the past ~50 year average. This information was from a weather underground article I read yesterday regarding this system. With Joe Bastardi hyping this up, the streak will end.

Absolutely no effects outside of Hawaii. The eruption type was one that produces little ash into the atmosphere compared to others. It takes a different kind to create impacts.
