Just noticed Euro AIFS-ENS now available on TT
It's not often when you see temperatures hard pressed to reach 80 degrees for highs in the first week of May. It looks like a comfortable stretch of weather to start the month. Last year, the opposite was the case.

I'm to the believe it when I see it mode. A few days ago models had a tornado outbreak for Friday with a surface low over MO that now looks to crawl along the coast.

Probably wrong since the Euro has highs in the 70s, but the GFS has afternoon highs in the 40s in N GA on May 1st.

The last few model runs make me want to puke. Nothing but an onslaught of arctic cold assaults to open May, stupidly cold temps particularly on the 2nd, wherein ECMWF has 50s temps all day. Looking more like February than May here if you ask me 
And well, looks like rain totals are meager anyhow, nowhere near enough for a drought relief, I'd much rather a warm and stormy pattern like last May than this ----.

It was 90 in OKC today. Well into the 70s at sunrise. Friday may stay in the 50s too if everything lines up right

What a stretch showing up after weeks of hype and panic
there was a big gap between runs (i guess having issues with getting the data) but the 00z run from yesterday was the second most recent one they had and it was a good deal southeast of the one i just posted, so maybe we'll drag it up some more. don't see why not, not exactly the time of year to suppress a LP track much
KRDU is more confident in a coastal low forming off the Southeast coast this weekend in their discussion and fairly optimistic about rainfall amounts exceeding an inch for much of the NC Piedmont. It's been a while since we've seen a widespread rain event like this and I hope this materializes and overperforms. I might have to reconsider the plans I cancelled for planting a vegetable garden this year.

Saturday's rain chance hanging on by a thread north of I-85 in the Carolinas. South of that may be ok.
Looks like typical snowstorm , 85 and S, screw job! NW trend??
All jokes aside, there is nothing climatologically "typical" about any snowstorm in the Piedmont of AL/GA/Carolinas. They are rare events

Saturday is going to be so delightfully messy, Sunday is 2 thumbs up but maybe even a little cool with a NW breeze dews falling into the 20s and 30s, wouldnt rule out some really late frost in a few locations Sunday or Monday mornings
