Severe March 2-4 Severe weather Threat

So there was a tornado in Columbia County, GA and the first official ranking was even a EF2...dang and that storm did not get a tornado warning until it was across the border (I THINK it had a severe thunderstorm warning though). Was just on wunderground and saw that in the PIS:

... Summary...
numerous Hardwood and softwood trees were uprooted and snapped along
the path of tornado. Extensive damage occurred to a home along
Magnolia Lane. This included roof damage, damage to windows, a
garage door and two vehicles. As the tornado continued northeast
it produced damage in the Summerhill neighborhood. Significant
damage occurred to a wooden fence and a small shed. One home
loss a significant amount of siding to one side and other homes
had damage to shingled roofs and fascia board. Additionally, two
ac compressor units were damaged and overturned. The tornado then
crossed William few parkway and produced extensive tree damage in
The Knob hill neighborhood, especially near the playground.

The Edgefield County one got an early EF2 rating as well.
 
What is it that makes Alabama get the ingredients for monster tors? I know they can happen anywhere, but AL really can't catch a break.
No topographic protection. They are at the mercy of the sunshine. When that severe line is streaming out of the gulf we’ve usually already had junk rain as well as full cloud over for most of the day before a threat arrives
