Atlanta has now had 7 straight days of 70+. That's the longest stretch of 70s in January in recorded history.

Well, 2016 was the warmest in recorded weather history. Perhaps this was the culmination. Perhaps it's the new normal. We shall see. I love cold and snow but I'm not gonna lie, 70° without the bugs and the pollen has been amazing.

How's the EPS

Don't know how much better a setup you can ask for then day 10-15 on the EPS.

Hard to believe we had a low of 60 this morning. It's getting really hot in my house. May need to turn the a.c. on.

The GFS still shows some form of phasing between that cutter and some moisture in the GOM. I'd be very interested if the disturbance in the GOM could be delayed until the cutter comes through with our flip to colder weather but alas...

Holy hell the ARCC special is still trying . the euro kicks the energy and has a huge phase.

The consistently between the models are incredible on this feature. You are just asking for a bomb when that kicks with energy riding down that ridge.

Another big shortwave riding down the ridge at 216. That pattern is gonna be a blast. Major phase potential with anything in the southern stream.

no kidding . if the ridge would edge west just a little and the energy actually kick it would be very interesting .

The bugs and pollen will be back soon if we don't get a break in this 70 degree weather.

Trough axis is pretty far east....would favor an eastern Carolinas late bloomer

If there is snow pack to the north it is backside freezing dry NW flow.

Like this guy tries to

I honestly don't buy what I'm seeing from 210-276 on the GFS. Clippers are usually never that strong. If that were to actually pan out it's a nice little snow event for all of North Carolina and a low tries to bloom late from it off the Atlantic Coast but that thing is too strong from the start and oddly stays strong.

But this is for entertainment purposes only right now.

I'm sitting out here this evening while the sun is going down and believe it or not I saw one mosquito trying to land on me. That was my first time ever seeing a mosquito in mid January.

Looks plenty cold for that late bloomer storm, but nobody wants a late bloomer, E NC special!! ☃

Metwannabe wins again. I like the overall setup...give me the tall western ridge and shortwave riding through it, the rest takes care of itself

If there's some legs to that big clipper with this quick spike with a +PNA/-EPO, we're really only a couple of adjustments away from seeing a good storm. If only that thing is able to phase with that other shortwave...

At first I enjoyed the warmer temps, but now it's getting a little old. If I wanted to live in a place with one season I'd move to South Florida. I just want things to get back to normal, if there is such a thing.

Hey everyone on PC, sorry for the radical forum changes. We are debugging some things. :)

Is Snowbird Bob pretty accurate ?
well he had the recent ice storm going all the way into Alabama and Mississippi, lol, only missed by several hundred miles. He's been right before, but generally tries to overhype to get people to pay for his webpage.

But we are getting a break according to general model consensus...right?
