I'm right next to Hull on Hwy 72. I haven't heard a single car go by in the hour I've been up so I'm guessing it's no good to drive. Usually there are cars going by even in the worst weather.

Some people just want the extremes, ef 5 tornados, a foot of ice and Helene. I don't understand it. If the media doesnt try and prepare the public for the absolute worst case scenario then they would be crucified and people will suffer way worse consequences. Always prepare for the worst and pray for the best.
 
So, I just did a cursory look around without going outside and what I saw on the vehicles out front is most certainly not frost. I know what frost looks like and it…doesn’t look like that.

I’m fairly sure it’s a very, very thin sheet of ice, from freezing mist as I don’t think I caught any kind of band, even light.

I went back to sleep at 5am and we were mostly sleet. We are all freezing rain now. Thick band to my SW. no signs of trees sagging yet. At first glance outside it just looks like one of those ------ dustings of snow we occasionally get. But it’s a frozen pondIMG_7941.jpeg

I've definitely prayed hard for it to not be as bad as they were saying

Dang, I think it’s still sleet up here. You gotta imagine that’ll flip soon if you’re ZR in FI tho

Yeah so far so good, rather have sleet and power than FRZ RN! But we still have a lot of precip to go that’s coming in later on.
 
still sitting at 20/18 with ZR. I’ll go outside shortly to see just how much I’ve gotten so far. We started switching around 5 so I’d imagine it’s really going to start piling up here over the next 12 hours
 
Getting a zr/sleet mix here for the last couple hours but oddly there’s not even any branches sagging yet. Just the lightest glaze, maybe 1/16th. Were at 1.25 inches of sleet accumulation.
