The entire CHS area and most of SC has been significantly colder than even the Icon, the coldest model!

3AM: CHS 30, Beaufort 34, HHI 37

Icon: 33, 36, 39…..avg of 2 1/3 F too warm
UK: 35, 37, 39….avg of 3 1/3 F too warm
Euro: 36, 39, 42….avg of 5 1/3 F too warm
GFS: 37, 39, 43….avg of 6 F too warm

No winds yet. This will all change come sunrise.
 
4am update. 21 degrees. Insane. Moderate summertime rain falling. It’s hard to describe the sound of what I’m hearing. There is zero runoff. These raindrops are super cooled. It sounds like rain when inside the house but when you peak your head out it sounds like ice falling to the ground. Everything is whitening and turning glazed already. I’m heading a lot of creaks and moans around my house.

I'm over on the Paulding/Cobb line near 120. I took a look outside and the deck, grill and railings all have a glaze, deck is an ice rink. It's hovering around 32 so I'm surprised there was any accretion.
 
Is it actually snowing in southwestern nc and western sc?

Hard to tell what this stuff falling even is. So used to 32 degree zr. This is sounding and looking much different. Looks like ice crystals as it’s falling through the air but it doesn’t sound like pingers from inside my house. It sounds like rain. It’s quiet outside for now. I’d say we’re not far off from that suddenly changing.
 
Honestly it’s raining so hard here that it’s not actually immediately freezing even though it’s 30. Rate might be saving our butts so far

It’s been pure sleet/ice crystals here since the rates picked up.
 
Really struggling to get consistent precip in my area. Been like that for a while. Must still have some real dry air

It’s Webber’s magic shattered pixie dust? Maybe? He posted something about it. Maybe you’re getting the one version that hasn’t been twice through something something snow dendrite growth blah blah. Tl;dr: You’re getting the budget pixie dust.
