Luckily I got my 500 gallon buried propane tank refilled last month. I’ve got a a generator and 20 gallons of fuel for it. Luckily I had my wife going by hardware stores and the grocery store earlier in the week to get stuff while I was out of town until today. I went by to get more flashlights and batteries from Ace hardware yesterday and needless to say that place has been picked to the bones. Lanterns gone, down to 4 small propane tanks for mini stoves or propane gas lanterns. Firewood is gone.

Receiving a little bit of drizzle this morning in new Hill, Apex. Not sure if that was forecasted or how long it will stick around.

Checking in from right outside Hendersonville. First major weather system since Helene, I’m going to be really interested in seeing how the infrastructure and trees hold up, and how many of those that were damaged from Helene finally come down.

Currently 42.6°

Plenty of trees and poles that were neglected are still leaning down here. Number one worry is a tree on the house

My number one worry as well. FEMA contractors did a lot of work on my property over the summer and ended up removing around 6 trees from my 1 acre, that were compromised. However a couple months ago a large red oak fell and had split about 4 feet up from the base. The arborist said he was seeing a lot of trees that were damaged from Helene but only now are coming down.
