Even though it is absolutey fascinating, it's scary as heck.

22 this morning at 6am (wind chill - 16 degrees). Not negative by the way.

HRRR has a light glazing of ice tomorrow on top of the 6 inches of snow still on the ground

Low was -8.3 on one gauge and -7 on the others. It was so cold I could hear popping noise on the roof overnight. I’M assuming it was the snow making noises in the extreme cold. It’s 21 now which is the first time out the teens since Saturday afternoon.

The popping was likely the sound of trees, a few might have died depending on the type. If you have any magnolias they are probably dead

We got down to -5 in n jackson earlier. Under a WWA now for a little ice. Hopefully we all have a better opportunity sometime in February

Boy tonight would have been an excellent night to get some overrunning precipitation East of the mountains. Cold last night, cold day today so the ground is ready to receive. Already below freezing in many areas. Would love to see a big blob of precip moving out of the SW into GA and Carolinas!

The NBM has CAE around 70-75 F for at least 3 days next week, with lows in the mid 60s!
