Misc Jalapeño July

I just have to keep reminding myself that the days are getting shorter and the sun angle is getting lower. Eventually it will cool off.

Had a heck of a storm last night around 9pm. even some nickel sized hail. The wind in that thing surpassed anything this year. Many limbs down in the yard and 1.5 inches of rain. will get a better idea of damage extent when the sun comes up.
 
Today is the day that the GFS-Parallel will take over as the GFS model.
 
had an impressive storm move through my area of CLT last night around 8. Had some hail (luckily no damage), tons of lightning, and a pretty stout microburst that downed trees all around the neighborhood. Probably the most intense storm of the summer so far

Another morning of dewpoints in the 60s and temps right around 70, not bad. Think if we go over 100 Saturday has the best chance of the period

I believe he was referring to historical means. For Birmingham the second half of July and August are where you find the hottest average temps if you take 20, 30, 40, etc. year averages.
 
I see D0 has started showing up in Va this week and looking at the last 14 days around NC/SC if nothing changes by next week I could see that D0 area up there expand southward into our part of the world.... Shane, Mack and JHS would argue they already are D0

Fear not for that douche bag comment I have no doubt we will get a southern slider with a nice 3-6 along i20 while you have partly cloudy skies, a temp of 31 with flurries

It happened in 1992. Maybe it'll happen again and be just a touch farther north and get the GSP metro in it.
 
95 today with dewpoints around 70 have kept it tolerable. The muggies return tomorrow looks like our shot at 100+ might get hampered by some convection Saturday so tomorrow might be the better shot though I think 97 is more likely
