For those who think tge heat wave will last all summer

It's a weather discussion board after all. Discussion is what it's all about . Multiple opinions are what makes discussing the weather so much fun . How boring would it be if everyone agreed on everything

I think one thing we can agree on, we want cooler temps haha but it hasn't been too bad, at least here so far, muggy as hell but it's all good.

Isnt it hard to have a heat wave when the ground is so wet ?

Soil moisture no doubt helps keep temps in check . Problem for those in the Carolinas is they haven't had near as much as areas to the west . That's why those locations should reach higher values vs miss ala ga and tenn

Had some storms fire to my West and move west, southwest! The fun just never stops! Think I'll be D2 by next week!:(

I'm about ready to get on this weeks heat wave train . It's so damn hot outside and it's on 11:30 on Monday

It always could be worse. I've gotten lots of rain and I'm still going to make a run at 100 late in the week. In fact, I actually have 100 predicted for Saturday.

So it's going to be 100 and it's going to be humid.

I thought it was pretty much impossible to reach 100 in the deep south under very humid conditions ? Every time I've experienced 100 degrees the humidity was pretty low and the ground was dry.

Oh it's already been 100 here a couple times with high humidity and more is to come this week... heat index was over 110 a few times.

That's Texas though. I doubt the ground was very wet when it hit 100 there. It's probably hot and dry most of the summer there.

Last year we had multiple days in June and July with temps of 98 to 102 with high humidity. We hit a HI of 115 to 120 several times.

I think the 98-103 range is a good bet. Its really difficult for most parts of the Carolinas to go above 105 and nothing really makes me think this is an exception to that case either. Plenty of low 100s but probably limited records
I agree with this. A small area from Florence SC to Augusta GA may hit 105, but the rest eof us should not.

It might not rain but it's cloudy and cooler than it could be

Hey!
72º at 3:30 PM on July 17th on the west side of Gainesville, FL ... :D
And it's dry as well ... not a rain cooled day, just some nice clouds ...

Outflow boundary just moved through . Feels really good outside with a nice breeze

That's a very big change on days 8-10 on the 12z Euro. I can't see the precip maps, but the 850 temps go under 15c over much of the Carolinas. The big ridge goes all the way back to the Rockies.

12z Gfs advertising nice rain chances next week

Except over upstate SC. There is a big hole right over me with less than .50 over the next 2 weeks. It will not be wrong either.
