One more hot week next week, then is summer over in the SE?
Is this a serious question? LolOne more hot week next week, then is summer over in the SE?
It's possible, but the chances are pretty slimOne more hot week next week, then is summer over in the SE?
We call it summer 2.0. Starts in late September and ends around early March.Summer part 2 ends Oct 15.

One thing is for sure. It usually cools off after Mid August, even if it's just a couple degrees. Late August heat is almost never as oppressive as July and early August heat. The only time I recall summer effectively ending by mid August is 2009. That may not ever happen again.

Seems like heat late in summer and early fall usually has lower dewpoints. We usually start taking the very edge off the humidity by then.
It was very wet in GA in Sept 2009. Major flooding.Seems like summer 2009 was not only unusually cool, but also wet/stormy. Think I remember it being an active MCS summer
Worst flooding I’ve since in my lifetime. It was very wet in GA in Sept 2009. Major flooding.

I was working that night and I started to sense something wasn't right. I had never heard it rain that hard for so long. I was in Villa Rica. Then when I got off work late at night, I encountered roads that were covered in water.I would completely agree with this. The rain that night was haunting.

I think it's @Dewpoint Dan . He's moved again. HahaDid you just move here?
Well considering CLT’s average high drops below 90 today, that’s probably right… because this has obviously been the summer of averages. Still think we see a day or two spike into the mid 90s before SeptemberMaybe I was onto something. Looks like this week might be it for consistent 90s.
Always thought dog days summer included all august… ends on September first…2 more days and then the Dog Days of Summer will be over.
Don’t do it , don’t be drawn into his bait . I’ve never in my life seen a person who reveled in his/her/it/zey/zem own stupidity and baited others with it .Always thought dog days summer included all august… ends on September first…

At least the sun angle is a good bit lower now.Based on the heat index being well over 100 right now IMBY and temperatures well into the 90s, I’m going to go with summer not being over.
Can’t tell the difference at allAt least the sun angle is a good bit lower now.
