Crazy how dry Texas is almost no hurricane can ever dig inland or moisten up the state past the coastal counties. It’s like NC with snow being only in the MTN counties.
 
I kind of figured that this was going to head to being a hurricane but regardless of it being a hurricane or not, the rainfall is going to be the biggest story.

Tropical systems seem to like to stall around here...
 
Hurricane Nicholas made landfall near 1230 AM CDT (0530 UTC) on
eastern part of the Matagorda Peninsula, about 10 miles (15 km)
west-southwest of Sargent Beach, Texas.
 
The sun is out in Texas does anyone know if the rain totals are gonna bust? Looks like it’s all New Orleans and east. Much further east than what I was expecting this morning per live radar.
