OK, GREENVILLE COOP has kept its total at 8.5
I sent a DM to each of the posters who contributed to the pot for the contest, and to a few other longtime forum members, requesting their feedback on the situation regarding the total reported at Greenville - i.e. whether to go with the 8.5 reported by the GREENVILLE COOP or use the backup plan which was the average between the amount recorded by WeatherNC and Downeastnc (13.7). The overwhelming feedback I received was to use the averaged amount of 13.7 (a few others in the thread here have shared a similar response).
I don't like going against my word that we would use the GREENVILLE COOP value if they reported, but given that the 13.7 value appears to be a much better representation of the snowfall in that area, and based on the feedback I received, I'm going to use the 13.7 value. Note: on Friday afternoon, I had not heard back from WeatherNC on whether he could measure (not his fault), so around 6:30pm in the Banter thread, I asked Downeastnc if he could measure in case GREENVILLE COOP didn't report. Downeastnc suggested that he and WeatherNC both measure since they live on opposite sides of Greenville (and maybe because it was going to be a tough measure given the amount of wind), so that's what we settled on doing.
Using 13.7 at Greenville makes @cyclogent the winner (Congraulations!). Had I decided to use the 8.5 at Greenville,
@SuperNET would have been the winner. So, as a bit of consolation here, for the $200 pot, I am going to give $150 to cyclogent and $50 to SuperNET
I will post the spreadsheet results in a moment below. Let me know if you see any issues. I'll give it a day and execute the payouts tomorrow.
