That's nothing this would be nearly unheard of that late. Our record number of days above 100 in September is only 10

Myself and other co workers caught a glimpse of something this a.m. in eastern sky. I grabbed phone and snaped pic while driving. I was heading under a overpass back north before finally clicking. We cant figure out what we saw. Pic doesnt do justice how big this was to naked eye.
Any guesses?

SpaceX launch. I got a great view on my wat in and also saw the booster on its way back down.

It is usually really cold above 10,000 feet and if there is moisture, it snows! As we see here, some of the peaks above 10,000 feet in the northern Rockies are getting some nice early September snowfall with some proper orographic lift. Mount Raleigh up there in Canada, just north of Vancouver is building up snowpack for the ski and snowboard season!

Our internet is getting shut off tonight AT MIDNIGHT. So I'll be on limited service tomorrow morning through September 3, 2026. Spectrum auto shuts off at MIDNIGHT so they can transfer the new service to new home.

Saw the first Trim-A-Tree boxes at Lowes today...it's the first sign that summer is coming to an end and winter is around the corner

15/16 was actually the last time I saw snow on the ground until 1/10/25 I believe (not 100% sure date wise), unless I count a drive through some of the hardest hit areas of the Dec 2017 storm the day after the snow.

I guess considering the way things have gone, I'll try not to be too obsessive involving the long range and won't be surprised if Christmas is warm unfortunately. I was in shorts on Christmas last year and shorts early January this year, and then you had that whirlwind 3 week period where you had blocking show up and every weekend, a storm.

Honestly wonder if...while the Nino wasn't official yet then, you pretty much already had a "good" El Nino like pattern happen winter wise for the South.
