Misc General Banter Thread

Yall can call me w/e idc …. This winter will be a B+ for me if it’s over

SN/IP Total - 16”
ICE - .2”
Days under 10 - 3
Days under 15 - 6
Total times I saw Snow - 7

While yes on paper it was great, Didn’t really see any earth shattering cold nor did I satisfy my Giant Mixed bag event 6+ snow / 1-2” Sleet / 1/4” ICE. Also, after further Review….. the amount of Jan 26’ may be the biggest of my life outside of Feb 2004 / Feb 2014, However Feb 2014 was more fun imo, the build up was better the traditional style system proves it was stronger. I had almost an inch or more QPF in that one. Jan 26’ was cool but it Fluky imo…. Only squeezed like .43” liquid or something out. Very appreciative sure, but in my mind I’ve still yet to find a worthy opponent of Feb 2014, 12.5” Snow/IP mix is better than even 18” all snow …. It has staying power. That snow was vapor by Monday Afternoon last week.

Some of you people will never be happy or satisfied no matter how much Snow or Ice you get.
I would have been more than satisfied if early models verified and Raleigh didn't get dryslotted. But when you haven't had 10" over a full winter in 22 years (when it happened once every few years before that) or even reached your 1991-2020 mean in this entire decade, it's hard not to be a little disappointed when you get dryslotted in a legendary storm for much of the region.

It feels like this winter is going to get an A or B grade from a lot of us in the Carolinas but I’d be lying if I said I’m not a bit disappointed here looking out into the extended. Maybe after years of being punched in the teeth we’re just hard to please

Honestly I have mixed feelings about this winter too... I mean yes I always had a fear about the second year Nina being rough(boy did people nail that one in the plains and Western US!) yes considering we've been near 80 half the winter seemingly I'm amazed we even had a real snowstorm and actually it was probably the biggest storm I've seen here but I guess the thing for me was even the snowstorm kind of fell flat. It really was nothing like what the models said or people were acting like it would be. I probably shouldn't even complain but like it gets tiring here when everyone hypes everything as the worst storm ever

I guess I just assumed there would be something else and now we're back to 80 degrees. I dunno. I mean we're probably gonna have finished this winter with a record number of days above 70 im assuming at this point

On the other hand I havent missed much work this winter at all and it's really not terrible to not be cold all the time with no precip which is a big issue here some years

Its funny it's the people that have gotten more snow recently telling us to be happy and deal with it. That or they point out some mythical storm that this "area" got that it didn't or they reference a storm a quarter century ago that has been paid back and then some as some trade.

This winter is an F, wasted cold, hot on Christmas day, below normal snow. Next

Bruh, the the cameron crybabies stormed the court in '05 after #1 ranked Dook beat an unranked Vatech team. It's burned in my brain because it was so sad.

And please let's discuss the Flopowski injury where he initiated the contact with the fan rushing the court and in doing so was injured. Hearing about the injury from Scheyer it sounded like they may have to cut off his leg and he would never play bball again, but it miraculously healed and he played in the next game. But with the incident Saturday night, has there been any video or photo proof that one of the 250 dook toadies, ooops I mean black clad staffer got punched and bloodied by a heels fan. Or could it have been that the toadie, er staffer, while doing his secret service like job of protecting the dook victims(players), ran into an elbow of Heels fan celebrating a win on a last second shot against a higher ranked rival? Could be either, but I'm not taking Cryerface's word for it, he has a tendency of embellishing deets.

Please take your pious dook blathering back to the Devil's Den and start scheming how to get the Heels back in a month at Hansborough Indoor Stadium. Because your victimhood is showing.

That was fun. Also, check out this website.

I can see you were the teacher of those fake classes at the University No Class.

If anyone is interested in reading me ramble about AI Weather models -

Great info. Though seeing something called “deterministic” in the same sentence as “something AI” gave me pause. Briefly. lol. I get it. Different context.

Just funny in that I was trying to explain, earlier today, why prompts to generate code (for development) can vary wildly with the results. Even though you enter the same, exact prompt. Was hammering the home nondeterministic thing with LLMs.

You will get some good snow before winter is over.
