How many times have you seen us storm the court when we beat you. Answer that one? Classless ass fan base. Act like you've been there before but oh wait, it's been awhile, we only care about beating Duke. That's all we care about. One foul call in the second half. Give me a fn break. Keep living on beating Coach K those final 2 games forever. That's all y'all care about. You absolutely choked away a national championship game against Kansas. A national fn championship game and your stupid idiot fan base said well at least we beat Duke and retired coach k when you just choked away a national fn championship game and all you talk about is beating Duke. Bruh, the the cameron crybabies stormed the court in '05 after #1 ranked Dook beat an unranked Vatech team. It's burned in my brain because it was so sad.

And please let's discuss the Flopowski injury where he initiated the contact with the fan rushing the court and in doing so was injured. Hearing about the injury from Scheyer it sounded like they may have to cut off his leg and he would never play bball again, but it miraculously healed and he played in the next game. But with the incident Saturday night, has there been any video or photo proof that one of the 250 dook toadies, ooops I mean black clad staffer got punched and bloodied by a heels fan. Or could it have been that the toadie, er staffer, while doing his secret service like job of protecting the dook victims(players), ran into an elbow of Heels fan celebrating a win on a last second shot against a higher ranked rival? Could be either, but I'm not taking Cryerface's word for it, he has a tendency of embellishing deets.

Please take your pious dook blathering back to the Devil's Den and start scheming how to get the Heels back in a month at Hansborough Indoor Stadium. Because your victimhood is showing.

I didn’t know it was as early as Feb 5th as I just found this out from this data source link:

Interestingly, however, it got down to 36F on April 12th of 1880 after dropping to 37-38 on April 8th-9th. March and April averaged NN with a wide range of daily temps.

Avg last freeze is not til early to mid-March.

A lack of warm ENSO years in the last decade may have something to do with this. However, even El Niño Februaries in recent years have been AN (2019 and 2024).

Perhaps we can get a legitimate Fab Fab in 2027 with El Niño!

Feb 2004 - 11.5” (NW Cabarrus)
Feb 2014 - 12.5” (Western Rowan)

After all the crappy tracking and then we finally got the jackpot zone in our Area and you missed it. I was supposed to go to Savannah and talked my wife out of it last minute

I tried man, did I try. But my wife wasn't having driving through the actual storm on Saturday, which was fair. Painful trip up but at least I saw some snow on the way up to Norfolk around Durham Friday night, and a bit Saturday night in Norfolk. Wintry experience for sure, but I missed the main event. Super super bad timing that took me a bit to get over.

Really rooting for cold and snow into early March up in NY. Universe has to give me this one right? lol.
 
It was in the 40's this morning, but it was the first time in a month probably that I could say that I didn't feel cold air at wake up time.

I am having a HARD time with separation from winter. I'll get there (am genuinely excited privately about going to a remote coastline in SC late spring) but I have read the storm threads a lot, some older threads too.

Before you know it, it will be November, and we'll be talking about next winter.

I'm holding out some hope we can get another chance at a winter storm in the South at the very end of February/early March, but climo is really going to be working against it, especially for areas farther south. Some areas in the south, including much of the Carolinas, scored big this winter, while others (notably RDU, ATL, and AL/MS) haven't cashed in so far.
 
I really hope we are done with hard freezes and late frosts, especially with how warm this upcoming pattern will be. I absolutely hate when a late frost/freeze kills all the blooms off and impacts fruit-bearing abilities/production of many plants and trees across the region, and I have seen it too many times before. Maybe this spring will be different. I would look forward to more winter weather shots if we kept a cold pattern with dormant trees, but now that we are warming up, I really hope that cold can stay far away until next fall.
 
i know I know people are gonna be salty about this statement. But I feel like winter is pretty much over as far as winter threats. And I’m not saying that to be negative I think we have had a solid winter, some even had a great one. Yeah there’s still some cold up top but it just has that feeling that “most” of us are about to start spring. That being said I dare Feb or March to prove me wrong.

I don’t think that’s unreasonable at all, and you said it’s a feeling. I think that factors into our thinking more than most of us like to admit.

I think where people get salty is when definitive predictions are made. Like “this winter is done, count on it”. I feel like the pros and those who know their stuff rarely talk in absolutes like that (at least not seriously). Instead, they might say “the pattern doesn’t look favorable until late feb/march when climo is an issue.” That’s basically saying the same thing but stating the most likely outcome rather than an absolute. Very important difference in my opinion. It’s not what we want to hear of course, but it sounds more reasonable.

And if people get salty over gut feelings, I feel like that's on them.

A warm day like this after an extended period of cold always has me thinking about the garden.

I'm probably going to plant some seed potatoes in a bag soon, as I typically do around mid-February. But the soil around here is still hard and mostly frozen. By next week I should be able to start them.
 
It feels like this winter is going to get an A or B grade from a lot of us in the Carolinas but I’d be lying if I said I’m not a bit disappointed here looking out into the extended. Maybe after years of being punched in the teeth we’re just hard to please
