A lot of the enjoyment is the not knowing.

We (RDU) hasn't seen a 4"+ event since 2018, those just don't happen anymore for RDU. My bar is 1-2" for a great event this winter and really any winter moving forward. Any winter precip is a gift.

Every single measurable snow I’ve received has likely not been snowing measurable snow for me at 136 hours out. Now I can count a ton that have me getting hammered right now and then getting blanked. People like pretty colors

Yeah I agree. The last week of January seems to be the potential to mix up this fast, too far east flow. We get the PNA back, plus great Canadian blocking along with a 50/50 -NAO to mega CAD us. With just a touch of SE ridge to actual spin u a storm, that would be a game changer.

We're stuck in a rut.

Typically we cant cash out unless theres a gulf tap...otherwise its a frontal passage where the upstate gets skipped over...it really sucks

Honestly the HRRR usually does pretty well indide 24hrs. Not saying its wrong here but 40hrs out is like the GFS at 300hrs out, possible but not likely.
