Misc General Banter Thread

So the second time I spent anytime in Avery County, NC was right after the Blizzard of 96, and I don't recall the exact amount of snow they had there as it varied with location, but it was a lot. My friend had just moved there with his parents, we were maybe 14 at the time, but behind his house was a cleared mountain with a Frasier Fir farm for Christmas trees. After a few days the snow was good and wet, we decided to start at the top of this mountain/hill (probably 3-400') and make the largest snowball we could. By the time we couldn't push this thing anymore it was about 6' in diameter. Someone has a polaroid of it, and I'm going to try and find it.

Only 11 days away...again. GFS loves to show good looking winter storms 10 or more days out.
Actually, it has been extremely stingy with fantasy storms this year. We're starting to see a lot of noise around that time frame across several model suites.

True. The models have been showing a threat for that period off and on for a while now. Hope this one is legit. They were doing the same a few days back for the 1/4 to 1/6 period and that went away. Hopefully we're not just seeing them continue to kick the can down the road.
