Yep. Driver fled the scene after hitting building, ruptured gas line and explosion occurred after they fled. 3 firefighters were injured and suspect is now in custody.

But seriously I know someone elsewhere who works in emergency management in Florida and thinks the NHC is useless. Like how you can work for them believing that because they are all connected down there. They have to be

They certainly missed Helene last year with the inland forecast. Everyone on this board knew it was coming east. Many folks in SC, GA, and NC got a nasty surprise that night.

I'd be interested if you're still in need of one more for the league
 
If you had a 13 year old Trane (past the 10 year warranty period) and your compressor went bad, would you just replace the compressor and refrigerant (I was given $3,250 estimate including labor) or would you replace the entire system? Entire system would likely be ~4 times that much.

I’m having a 2nd co. inspect the system today. One thing to keep in mind in case that matters: there’s a chance (~50/50) that I’ll decide to move within a couple of years.

Edit: Co #2 said compressor was hit by a lightning related surge. It caused the compressor to ground out and blew out one of the terminals on the compressor Thus, they said entire system has been compromised. Thus, it’s covered by homeowner’s insurance.

I wasn’t the least bit “upset”. It’s not that big of a deal. But I thought that the older logo was a unique, memorable, and near perfect reflection of what CB is all about. The new one was blah. I’ve been going to CB for >40 years. Here are the logos: if you had to choose, which do you think is a better logo?

Anyone who prefers the newer logo has no taste. It’s boring with no character.
 
The whole thing seemed like a publicity stunt to me. They weren’t doing that well prior to this, and it just seems like their execs weighed the cost of the initial hit versus how the publicity of “caving” to public pressure would help them in the long term. Seems like a microcosm of a CIA operation. Anyone who thinks they were going to pay the money to change all the signage and revamp all of their restaurants while not doing well are the same crowd that believed Iraq had wmd’s. In the end though, their fans think they achieved some victory and will return to eat some of the most unhealthy processed garbage a human can eat.

I say that all the while being guilty of it when I was younger myself. You live and learn with each blood test.

Right the whole thing exposed to me that the food really isn't that good 🤣 🤣 🤣 I mean there was a couple things I sort of liked but it's still unhealthy restaurant food

I always thought people went more for the experience anyway you know the chairs and the window shopping

I used to go more often, but now it’s more like an average of once a year or less, usually for breakfast. I love their pancakes! I used to play the triangle peg game. Speaking of the chairs, I usually get some serious rocking in afterward to burn off the extra calories. So, it’s a wash healthwise. 😆

I mean it seemed to always be the place my parents wanted to go no matter where we were but she told me they weren't going back when this mess started

I've been trying to cut back on eating out in general anyway because it's too expensive
 
I absolutely love the Barnett Crossbow I just bought. Upgraded the scope and my kids, wife and myself were putting bolts into a two inch area at 50-60 yards with almost no experience.

I stopped eating there because it's so salty. Food is average with a lot of salt.
 
Went to a little pond by the house for some fishing last evening. Was 82 at about 5ish. Big storm popped up nearby, gust front, lots of lining and a few sprinkles, it was 64 and breezy when I left at 8, I was freezing 🥶 IMG_2251.jpegIMG_2232.jpeg
