Misc General Banter Thread

Feeling hopeless right now. Last year, our family trip to the NC coast just so happened to coincide with Hurricane Debby hitting, and now there's a chance another TC/TD/Hurricane will form while we're down there this week. I'm starting to think I should play the lottery. My luck couldn't get any worse!

I started a hike in Rocky Mountain National Park yesterday morning with the thermometer reading 37F. 🥶

I love CO in summer though I haven’t been in a good number of years. I loved visiting Rocky Mtn Natl Park! I mainly drove through it. The views were amazing, including of snow capped mtns. Seeing snowcover and ice nearby in summer with daytime temps only in the 40s was so exhilarating! Encountering large animals along the roads was awesome though they sometimes stopped traffic. Did you see a lot of these large animals?

I was in gunnison, curcicanti, 14rs. Etc. I saw squat on some big days of hiking. Mule deer would come to cab to eat , bedside that? nothing

Hey gang, currently at my location, we lose 44 minutes of daylight from now 'til August 31. My species hunts better under the cloak of darkness. #Winning

Yeah the loss of daylight in the mornings is pretty amazing already

And we still lose almost an hour and a half by Halloween just in the morning!

Averages start dropping today here too

Yep, saw some elk and a moose! And lots of deer and smaller creatures like pika, marmots, etc.

Another day of watching people get more than I received last month copious rains. Obviously making proclamations of weather doom lead to success

I will never see a foot of snow in Rolesville, NC again. And it will never stick around for a week with lows getting below zero.

This has really been a fantastic summer for the trees and lawns. Especially around here where it's so sandy. Can't hold back the hands of time though. Right on cue the grass growth is slowing down as we hit the 2nd week of August. Despite 3.5" of rain already this month it was noticeably an easier cut yesterday than the Saturday before.

5th anniversary of this monster derecho! I was in Dubuque and was not affected! But Ames to Cedar Rapids and surrounding, were devastated by the winds! IMG_1959.png
