Misc General Banter Thread

I can’t even imagine what it would feel like to be seeing all these monster runs for my backyard less than 3 days out. I hope this all verifies for y’all up there because holy crap seriously these are all nuts.
 
There is a wind max over NW NC I think it is NW flow drying up moisture this reason for lower totals in that area and the foothills escarpment . If those winds are not as strong may see totals go up in that area

But I'm so glad I can sit on the sidelines and watch from afar after last weekend here haha

I still can't believe that mess was so overhyped like the next apocalypse 😜

We already had warnings 48 hours before a flake fell! It's been funny to see no watches over there yet

CAE will issue them here in a little while, probably around 3-4AM i'd assume. they cut their forecast discussion short and said it'll come in a bit.. usually they do that when they need to draw maps lol

We've a potential record breaking upper low in terms of the lowest heights observed, hard enough to forecast snow around these parts, let alone, this highly anomalous beast of an upper low/sfc low bombogenesis.

Yeah tbh we had like no real wind here that was the most surprising part to me of our storm y'all look a lot better off in that regard

But just remember too there's always surprises with these things. It never goes exactly like the models say

Our precip ended way earlier than expected too haha

We're sitting here around Winston with an inch plus of ice on the secondary/tertiary roads. Things are dicey once you get off the interstate and maintained expressways.

Your thought to just hit Charlotte with the family is probably a good idea. They're an order of magnitude better off than we are right now tonight looking at this event even though we are only an hour north.

Just have a backup plan to get out. You may get in but you may be delayed getting out due to road conditions. If you can be flexible, have a blast. Just don't push it and test road conditions.

Currently targteting between High Point / Greensboro / Central Downtown Charlotte. Need to find my kid a sled before Friday evening lol...

I would say Amazon but it doesn't look like you can get one shipped in time. Crazy how just about everything else they have is same or next day. In the Charlotte area, when I lived in Concord all the kids went sledding outside the speedway on the hills.
