feels like a July night, warm/muggy, lots of katydids, lots of lightning flashes in distant towering cumulus, does not feel like late September at all

I tried to pull up American Weather but i cant get it, which is strange. It gives me an error message. See if someone can check it out and let us know.

I’ve been seeing some bright flashes of lightning. It’s coming!

Very bright lightning, granted it’s 11pm here’s a pic. Very heavy rain, wind is going crazy. This pic isn’t even the brightest. One actually was so bright that the image was all white.

Either next week is going to be the last near 100 degree heatwave or mother nature is laughing at us one or the other.

A lot of "false color" around here. The drought is making some trees' leaves turn yellow. It has to be drought related considering our color doesn't usually peak until the start of November.

I can't remember the last time I saw beautiful color around this area or great streams of birds flying south for the winter? I routinely see big flocks of birds flying all around, but it's probably been 9 or 10 years since I've seen those long bird streams that stretch from one end of the horizon to the other.

@BirdManDoomW Can you shed some light on the subject?

This link is pretty cool. Shows real-time migration based on radar.

When does phases 8 and 1 of the MJO start correlating to cool weather instead of HOT HOT HOT? It seems that's the phases where it's going to want to camp out this year.
