One big discussion thread, threads broken out by state?

Model PBP/obs/discussion/etc should all be in one thread for the same region ie southeast. No point sifting through 5 kinda slow threads for each state. IMO. I’m interested in each state and the storm as a whole.
I agree with this take!
I enjoy seeing the different analysis from different regions. It's educational to see how it all fits together.

Carolinas should have their own thread and then another for everyone else.
I'll check this in the AM and see where the results land and go from there.

We shut the website down.
West of the Appalachians and East of the Appalachians. 2 threads. The small amount of mountain people can then pick.
I think separate state threads are too many threads, but also agree having one whole discussion thread can be cumbersome. A good compromise might be breaking up into several states. Maybe AL/GA/TN in one, and SC/NC/VA in the other for example.

The pros to state threads is the information and discussion will be relevant to who is in the thread, but a con would be you could miss out on valuable input from talented posters who just stick to their states thread.
By CWA actually crossed my mind

Good:
limits the whiny folks in one state/region. Nobody in Georgia cares about NC (jk… mostly)
Bad:
ya miss out on the folks in other states/regions. a lot of NC folks know their stuff.
Alt ideas/thoughts:
* Limit the threads and who can post. Only the folks who know their stuff. Or all get a shot and as things heat up, 1 strike you’re out. Would be cool if there was a way to clearly indicate the thread is now in 1 strike mode (something where you don’t miss a post stating such).
* Have a companion thread for the noise / folks not able to post.
