Pattern December to Remember

December to remember more like December to forget
For as warm as we’ve been this December it does seem we’ve had some colder nights in between. I guess it’s because the really warm weather hasn’t lasted more then a few days at a time so it hasn’t felt as bad. We get almost record warmth 3-4 days then a cold front for a few followed by more near record warmth. I’ve had worse winter periods like one January where I went 20 something days without a freeze. I’d rather it be like this then maybe a little less warm but hardly any real cold nights.

If you squint really hard, you can see some snow and snow shower squares on the weather.us the ECMWF in NE AL around 1 am CST tonight...Who's up for staring at street lights in the wee hours of the morning? Some mixed rain and snow squares around Carrollton and Lawrenceville at 6 am, too...and then again around 9 am in Newnan. I wish it were true...

Yea Its raw outside today in the breeze, shade espeacilly. Might see some ice sneak in the foothill region. Already seeing it in Ark,TX,Ok 3 corner region this morning. Definitely keep an eye on it. novelity, but this coastal is coming out of GOM , might be able to throw enough upglide over the cold surface to produce some freezing drizzle back yalls way.
I like seeing the gom low setup with cold air moving by to the north, and it shows up again around New Years, when it might pay off. The timing will have to be right, but love a gom low snow down here :) And I've seen some around NY's in my life...it's a propitious time for frozen in Ga.

I’m ready for the cold drizzle tomorrow…or Southern snowflakes as we like to call it.

Yes, looking forward to a real wintry day here tomorrow, when highs will likely be only in the 40s with breezy and all day continuous rain. Can’t ask for a better day than that with the rain being needed and it keeping it nice and cold and thus reminding me we’re in winter. Now from a walker’s standpoint, it sucks but that’s what the treadmill is for.

Ok, so we have a busted water pipe under the road right in front of my house. Supposed to be fixed tomorrow but should get some ice on the road overnight. Does that count as winter weather? I am starting to look for a cliff. Seeing things looks decent @day ten a week or so ago was promising but man, things have derailed. Seems like the 540 line just wants to stay to our NE if even close at all.
