Pattern August Rush 2020

GSP averages 30.14" of rain through 8/14, I'm just over 20 miles east of them with 44.51"
Certainly an above average year so far here. We've already beaten the entirety of 2016 (34.43")

For the life of me, I can't understand the ever present griping about lack of rainfall. While some backyards have undoubtedly gotten less than others, this is the upstate of SC; an area that averages almost 50 inches a year. That is PLENTY of rainfall for anyone. GSP has recorded 50.56 already, or +20! Maybe Boiling Springs or Jonesville has only gotten 30 something, but that is still more than plenty. It seems like some people aren't happy if it's not constantly flooding at their house. We are in the midst of the wettest 3 year period in weather record history and that isn't enough? I can understand complaining about a lack of snow around here but rain? I don't get it. ?

BTW, I'm already at 64.53 and that is missing on most of the rain over the past couple of weeks (thankfully). Oconee county has to be underwater, they've been dumped on this week.

Because I like to keep a pretty green yard in summer without having a $150 water bill. Doesn't matter how much rain you have gotten in winter and spring with summer evaporation rates.

Plus as a weather enthusiast I like action like everyone else on here and love a good thunderstorm. And to see everyone except me and maybe one or two more cashing in day after day saying how much rain they got while you get shafted works on your temper! Not being rude and hope not to offend you but thats why I complain.

Lots of confusion today yet again from brad p because he is saying high risk on his map vs the WPC saying moderate risk. UGHHH wish he would follow government wording and officials than creating his own confusion??

Could you imagine if we get a derecho with these wet soils? It would be worse than the 112 gust in Iowa. Even a 30mph cold front would cause damage

Holy cow that is a lot of rain. I am on board with you and would like to see some dry weather. KAVL should be over 40 inches for the year after today's rain. KAVL is currently 10 inches above normal and three consecutive years of record or near record rainfall. There has been the threat of rain almost everyday the entire summer even though I did sneak a dry week or two with rain still in the area but just missing my back yard as it does to Rainless. Would like to plan a dry weather camping trip but that has been near impossible.

Wish I could send some of the wet stuff down your way Rainless/Snowless & Grumpy for your yard; mine doesn't need it. No worries, complaining is part of your charm and I do it too.?

Comically close to a little cell here. I'm talking a quarter-half mile away from 50+dbz and not a drop. (I'm not complaining)

Oh, no worries Rainless; I hope I don't sound like I'm complaining about people complaining!? We all have our things. I guess I am just rain fatigued after this 3 year run. Maybe I am in Olympic National Park and you're in Death Valley and we're only about 50 miles apart! Personally I'd like to see some dry (actually got a little dry for about 2 weeks and it was NICE) = less mosquitoes, less humidity, less grass to cut, less mud, etc.

I just hope that what goes up doesn't come down.. I hope we don't have a three-year drought

Doubt it but I could see a few areas holding in the 70s tomorrow if we don't clear out early
