Pattern August is the worst month of the year and it's not even close thread

Let's use New Bern, NC as an example.

January is brutally cold, with only some nice days. Even in those nice days nights are often cold.

August (2nd hottest month) is mostly pleasant, though a few days can be too warm.
There are a lot of pleasant days in the Southeast in January. Highs in the 60s and 70s are not uncommon in January for most areas.

August is easily the worst month of the year in Qatar. Imagine a combination of Phoenix temps + dew points higher than Florida and US Gulf coast when onshore winds blow. At least June has mostly dry offshore winds. August has a mix of both but mostly onshore.

I like it warm, but not Arabian Peninsula levels of warm. Miami for example is perfect

I think it's safe to say temperature/weather is always relative to what you're used to. With that in mind, most of us wouldn't consider Miami to be perfect, nor New Bern to be brutally cold in January.

Years back, I read about a golf tournament in Scotland where the high temps reached 80, and there were reports of spectators suffering heat exhaustion, which I found shocking at the time, but apparently most had never been outside at that temp in their lifetimes.
