Misc August Auguring

The whole " drought begets drought, is real as can be! It's amazing how anything moving close to my backyard, falls apart or disappears as it hits the dry air!
 
60% chance of storms today (well, as of last night) turned into 30% early this morning than nothing by afternoon. lol. The cooler air for the weekend and especially early next week looks amazing though!

Yep and if you take harvey out of the equation no real chance of rain for 10 days. I love how the rich get richer theory holds. In the last 60 days places close by are 8-10 while I'm at 2.8

Models are about to take Harvey out of the equation! :(
Models now drifting SW after landfall. I shouldn't be surprised! :(
 
Pouring down rain and pea size hail. Out of the blue. Good 10 to 15 minutes so far.
Maybe it can make east 80 miles and help my neighbors out.

Mine too. Sitting at 80 and 81 for mon/tues now. Still comfortable though with low humidity! I noticed in meteostar gfs showing lower 50s 10 days out(lol). Guess we'll see.

Yeah it's dry here as well . Hopefully Harvey brings us all some rain AND the eastern Pacific storm looks to get caught up and pulled into Mexico which hopefully slings moisture into the lower 48 as well

Just noticed Frost Advisory issued in the UP of Michigan and northern Wisconsin ... first one I have noticed (but could have missed one earlier.) Maybe just me, but seems like everything this year, including spring, has been a couple weeks ahead of schedule.

Agreed! Everything's been kinda off this year after winter. It's been much cooler at night to me as well. Lots more 60s this year verses 70s. Noticed on the meteostar lower 50s have become a common theme for the last several days of the run. Wouldn't shock me actually. Let's just hope it turns into a cold winter somewhere lol.

Sitting at 62.2 this hour. Feels nice out. Seeing some upper 50s scattered about the region as well. It's much warmer south I-20 though. Lots of 70s. Atlanta is 10 degrees warmer than me this hour.

Drought will become the big story as time goes on. Much of the southeast will see D4 drought by sometime in November. Winter will probably be very warm and dry too.

That has to be the most irrational thing I have heard since earlier this year when you said not a drop before August, and then it rained. I honestly believe we are almost done with this dry spell and are about to get wetter again. If there is one thing I have noticed, dry patterns seem to get dryer modeling, producing dryer forecasts for long range, and wet patterns create wetter runs and wetter forecasts. As they fade into each other or from each other, they add chances to the forecast, or take them away. Harvey for now dictates whether we get rain or not, and if the NHC screwed up and the models did too, except the EPS, then we could be in for some rain.
 
Got two rounds of rain here earlier. Came down heavy twice in two separate thunderstorms. They faded away once they left Cherokee county tho.
