This cold snap is crazy! Got the heat on and fire roaring! It’s a bone chilling 62 :confused:
 
Looks like many of us here got Nam'd badly now that the HRRR is in range and it all just went poof. Still possibility of flakes though but if you were expecting more than a dusting that's too much to ask for. Unless something surprises us.

Nope. Pure Hell is having 33-34 and rain while all your friends and family who live 10-15 miles north of you are getting dumped on with heavy snow and sleet, thus utterly leaving you on the outside looking in. :(
 
I’m at 64 degrees
 
HSV is reporting sleet even though the precipitation type algorithms are showing all rain. This last batch of precipitation over northern AL may be our best and only shot to get any snow/sleet in central NC.

18z NAM is back with some wintry mix again. The HRrRrRr even joined the party with a trace just to the west.
 
It has gotten cold out. Been a dreary day for sure. I had a new heating and air unit installed today. I felt bad for the guys doing it, but at least they had a tent to work under.

48 and dropping here. Hoping the 925 line can make it here before all the moisture leaves. If I could see some pellets that would be nice, unless somehow flakes fall. Pretty sure sleet is a low chance anyway.

RAP is in on some snow/sleet across central NC from about 9-1am.

Trends from past few model runs.

The two things this has going for it at the moment even at first glance is the fact that most of the lift will be induced by cyclonic vorticity advection from the parent s/w and not low-mid level WAA and it'll be happening at night if it does snow.

That’s awesome. I tried to add a gif, but I don’t have any idea how to do it. All of my attempts failed like an April snowstorm!
