Well 06Z GFS indicating a possible "decent" severe threat for SE over next weekend.. and again later in week. I know way too early to lock anything in, but worth keeping an eye on IMO. Also, if it holds First of May looking crazy hot..(Progged 93 here) If that trends holds have title for May thread..."Meltdown May"..LOL
Happy Easter to Everyone!!!

6Z looked a bit nastier than 0Z. If we end up heating up in May, maybe we won't be so hot during the heat of summer later on. But then again, last year was brutal all the way through, so anything could happen.

Nah it won't be that hot. That would be unprecedented. I don't recall it ever hitting 90 degrees before May 15.

If you are young enough, you might not have been old enough at the time to remember it hitting 91 on May 6th in 1996. Otherwise, going further back, it hit 91 on April 23rd in 1980. Also, there have been three days of 92-93 later in April. There have been at least 34 days of 90+ during May 1-14 going back to when April records began in 1879. With 38 days of 90+ before 5/15, it has occurred on average about once every 4 years. Oddly enough, there have been no highs of 90+ earlier than 5/22 since 1996! Considering that there have likely been close to 70 of these 90+ days before 5/22 over the last 138 years or about one every 2 years and that there have been none of these the last 20 years, ATL is way overdue for another 90+ before 5/22!!

although after this, it tends to look pretty nice - go look for yourself on the Wiki tab!

I've seen plenty of times in which it's hit 90 before late May.

I mean we just broke a record high a few weeks ago with how hot it got (it was over 90) and I remember me feeling like while out in the sun "I wish I had a pool to go to later today".

Really pumped about the potential for convection this evening. Hasn't rained in a while and I am near turning the sprinklers on

I'd enjoy a very good soaker this afternoon.... I had a hellish weekend. Some yahoo's that think they are smart decided that Easter weekend would be a great time to burn a 250 acre cutover directly in front of my house, with dry conditions and strong SW winds all weekend I was confined to my house by the smoke and on fire watch. Had to call the Forestry Service twice, once because it got in the ditch across from my house and second time because some embers made it across the road to my woods beside my house and ignited. Needless to say they were ticketed but seems inconsequential for the aggravation we had to endure. It's been extinguished but still some hot spots so a nice rain would be greatly appreciated!

Interesting system this coming weekend . Heavy rain and possible severe thunderstorms

Maybe we get rain, but not the storms over much of NC, SC, and north GA. CAD will not allow storms in these areas.

PS - You can get plenty of past historic info from the NHC Archives, which you'll conveniently find in the Wiki page under "Tropical".
Couldn't resist the plug ... LOL

Yep looks like a decent severe threat
Maybe something to watch for a change. I have been enjoying the nice weather, though. Took the family to Great Wolf Lodge and Busch Gardens last week and had a blast.

I'm starting to doubt rain chances today, dew points in the low 50s isn't going to cut it

We are starting to suck at rain, as bad as we suck at snow!? DP of 53 here, a small line of storms trying to organize to my NW, we will see

Actually starting to look a little more impressive up this way let's see if they can hold together.

Great complex of storms and some training over the upstate! Over 1" so far, more on the way! Not bad for 30% chance of isolated T storms
