I realize it is March 8th, but I am surprised there is not more chatter about this threat. Some of us have not had this much ensemble support at this range all winter. I am not overly optimistic, but I am not discounting seeing some flakes fall either.
We've been duped too many times lol. I'm actually going to north Georgia for my 1 year anniversary. So I may have a better snow chance after all

The old story of the "Boy That Cried Wolf." I hope there's a wolf this time. I'm not getting my hopes up on this one, like others, however something tells me this could be one of those surprise makers for some in Central Alabama. Who knows?

For some reason these have worked out well for us in March. I've got a good feeling about this one
Especially for us in north Alabama, have a good feeling too.
1-2” even on grass is a win IMO. Temps look good as well in the upper 20s as the snow falls. Will be interesting to see the NAM and CAMs once they get in range.

Hoping the euro looks better but totals on gfs went way down for middle Tennessee compared to last nights runs. Obviously a ways to go but not the direction I wanted to go in as the storm will be 3 days out by tonight’s runs.
Don’t get me wrong as I’ll take what it’s showing this time of year all day every day. The problem is temps will be very warm before the storm so this lighter snow will be hard to accumulate much. We need those heavier amounts shown last night so rates can overcome the warm ground temps.

You ought to be ok there, but it might be a good idea to drive into the national park to see a really good snow. GSP is talking it up bigtime now.

Some areas in the park will probably get 8+ out of this.

I short drive up on soco mountain between Cherokee and Maggie will do it. I’ve seen a dusting in Maggie and about 4 inches on soco in the past.

Still not Bad but the gfs did back off slightly for western NC. While Alabama Mississippi looks good Tennessee saw a increase

**I do realize these maps are way overinflated, but still**
Noticing the increase for NW GA still. This seems to be coming from the trough trends shifting to a slightly further west neutral tilt in recent runs as well as some more dig. If this trend remains or keeps up there can be something possibly across a fair amount of the areas from N MS through NW GA. The real story is the cold still, as this run kept a lot of areas sub-freezing with wind chills in the single digits overnight. Not sure the last time that happened this late.

If this does end up dropping 4-6 inches of snow a lot of middle Tennessee will end up with seasonal totals they haven’t seen since possibly the 90s. I’m just a hair short of 13 inches already so 5-6 would put me at 18-19 inches for the winter! This one will hurt if it craps out since we are now just 3 days away.

Going to be in Richmond this weekend. I see there’s actually snow showeres in their NWS forecast for Saturday night. ☃️
