Yeah they are down here from almost 4" to under 2" now. I didn't realistically think we would hit nowhere near that.

HRRR with a lake effect band off Kerr/Gaston over eastern NC......if the wind angle is just right this can actually pan out, seen it happen a handful of times over the year.....

Snow line as of 8:44 bama time. 
I do think whoever is right on the edge of the rain snow line could def get a surprise with some heavy rates.
Pouring in Birmingham right now. (rain). So very weird to be giving obs for a city that I don't live in. Unintended snow chase....

Quite the dynamic system for sure sitting at 61 with a heavy storm approaching. Thunder and light being observed. Crazy to think in a few hours it going to be snowing
Yes I can confirm a big heavy wet rain in the Bham area. I was remarking to my family on this level of moisture and how this would be where the snow came from later, lots of good qpf happening.
