Severe 2026 Severe Thread 🌩

Came down to central ga for some work and find this intriguing. Peachtree has zero mention of precip but …. Hard time believing these fall apart for the forecast to verify

Pickens County (GA) and Jasper got nailed pretty good. I have lived here 7 years and worst storm I have been through here. Hearing reports of several trees down in town. Was tornado warned … not confirmed here that I have heard but watching rain and trees there appeared to be a rotation at least over head. Power out and may be for a while.

This type of event happens quite often in the sounds of NC with nor'easters and hurricanes. It essentially a wind blown tide where the wind blows the water to one side then it rushes back with the wind shift. Not sure I've ever heard of it on a lake as large as lake winnebago from a tornado though.

15K folks are without power in RDU area.
I was out of town this week and missed the fun. Apparently was out of power for over 24 hours mid week here according to texts/email from the power company. Saw some leftover downed trees in the area today.

The Pickens Co (GA) tornado Wednesday night was off ground when passed over my home in Jasper. Could see the rain and wind change direction as it passed. However trees were downed on power lines a couple blocks behind us. Power was out for about 18 hours. We were fortunate it was not worse.

We are the new tornado capital, I reckon!? IMG_6192.png

They are really hyping up this complex of storms moving out of SD! They are stopping short of using the “D” word! They have been upping the wind potential all day! Was 60 mph winds possible this AM,now they are up to possible 90 mph winds !? We shall see, I’m on the southern edge of the worst, but 10-20 miles shift, depending on where it forms, I’ll be watching!!! Looks to hit around 6-8 AM tomorrow here, if it doesn’t missIMG_6222.png

Storms in Colorado today dropped a ton of hail and this county in Colorado brought out a snow plow to clean it up.
